Unable to respond to Su Nan’s teasing words, Owen instinctively took a step back and shouted in terror, “Someone, come quickly, there’s an assassin!”

The high-pitched, fear-distorted voice made Giller frown, a hint of disdain flashing in his eyes as he glanced at Owen.

The enemy had already entered the hall; even a fool would know that the guards must have been slaughtered. Crying out foolishly like that was truly shameful.

How did I not realize before that this guy was such an idiot?

Owen realized this himself too, his face turning ashen and cold sweat dripping from his forehead.

Giller ignored the idiot, turned to Su Nan, and chuckled playfully:

“Su Nan Anes-t, I’ve heard of you, the legendary sorcerer.”

“His Excellency the Marquis praised you as a promising young man. How about considering serving the Marquis?”

“As long as you achieve enough merits, not just a barony but even a viscounty, His Excellency the Marquis can reward you with it!”

“Who are you?” Su Nan glanced at Giller.

“Giller Konos, envoy of Marquis Jin Yan.”

Giller slightly lifted his chin, a touch of arrogance in his tone.

“So, it’s just a dog of Marquis Jin Yan,” Su Nan shook his head.

Giller’s smile froze, his expression quickly turning sullen. He said coldly, “Young people shouldn’t be too arrogant. Just because you’ve become a sorcerer doesn’t mean you can look down on everyone. There are plenty of people stronger than you in this world.”

Su Nan smiled sarcastically, “So what?”

Seeing Su Nan’s demeanor of not taking him seriously from start to finish, Giller was finally thoroughly enraged, his face becoming extremely cold and stern.

“It seems you’re just a fool who can’t see the bigger picture. I overestimated you. A person like you doesn’t deserve to serve the Marquis.”

“Fine, since you’re here, don’t leave—leave your life here.”

“Hoch, I leave it to you.”

The last sentence was directed to the cloaked man beside him.

Hoch nodded, tore away his cloak, revealing a weathered face of about forty years old, a silvery bright scale armor, and a refined steel longsword.

“I’ve heard many legends about sorcerers, but today is the first time I’ve encountered one. I hope you won’t disappoint me.”

With his eyes shining, Hoch stared intently at Su Nan, a high-spirited battle intent flashing in his eyes.

Before Su Nan could respond, Hoch swung his sword fiercely forward.

With a piercing sonic boom, a crimson flame sword energy formed out of thin air along the path of the blade, slashing through the void towards Su Nan.

    “Elemental power!”

Su Nan’s eyes narrowed; without dodging, an invisible shield moved in front of him, blocking the flame sword energy.

Undeterred by missing his strike, Hoch lunged forward, launching a lightning-fast assault on Su Nan.

Su Nan cast a flicker of lightning to briefly hinder Hoch and quickly retreated, exiting the hall in no time.

Owen stood dumbfounded with a look of astonishment as he watched the two of them rush out of the hall one after the other.

“Elemental power. Sir Hoch is a legendary knight!”

Giller said smugly, “I told you, with Sir Hoch here, there’s nothing to worry about.”

Recovering from his shock, Owen felt an overwhelming joy, as if he had ascended from hell to heaven.

A legendary knight is the pinnacle of power in the duchy!

One legendary knight can single-handedly take on dozens of great knights!

With a legendary knight present, what is there to fear?

The panic and fear in Owen’s heart vanished completely, replaced by an extremely excited expression.

The two of them immediately walked out of the hall into the courtyard.

The previously serene and elegant courtyard was now in complete disarray, littered with broken wood and rubble everywhere.

Hoch wielded a longsword burning with fierce flames, launching relentless attacks on Su Nan.

The latter was almost pinned down in place, unable to dodge, relying only on his shield and Protection Ring to withstand, occasionally raising a hand to unleash lightning and wind in counterattack.

Flames, lightning, and wind intertwined and clashed, creating a dull, deafening roar.

Unlike great knights who could only generate fighting spirit through their bodies, legendary knights had to some extent broken free from their physical constraints, able to communicate with the free energy particles in nature.

Similar to second-level sorcerer apprentices, they already had a preliminary mastery of controlling energy particles.

The difference is that most legendary knights can only transform a single energy particle into a single elemental form, unlike sorcerer apprentices who can manipulate multiple energy particles with more varied techniques.

Even so, legendary knights who have mastered elemental power experience an earth-shattering change in combat power compared to great knights.

To put it simply, they’ve transformed from mere physical warriors into Magic Warriors with both martial and magical prowess.

Moreover, they can absorb energy particles to replenish their consumption, greatly enhancing their endurance as Magic Warriors.

A legendary knight wielding elemental power can single-handedly face thousands on the battlefield and influence the outcome of small-scale battles.

Due to the strength and rarity of legendary knights, they’ve become rare on the battlefield in recent years.

They’re more often treated as strategic weapons, rarely deployed.

Truth be told, encountering a legendary knight here indeed surprised Su Nan.

For a second-level sorcerer apprentice like him, dealing with such a high-level opponent was quite troublesome.

At that moment, Su Nan’s expression changed slightly, a smile flickering across his face.

Simultaneously, Hoch seemed to notice something, swinging his sword fiercely to his side.

    Clang!

A mass of sparks suddenly burst out from the empty void!

Accompanied by a low hissing sound.

Hoch slashed a swath of flames, the scorching heat slightly distorted the air, vaguely outlining the silhouette of a four-legged beast.

It quickly transformed back into its ethereal form, dodging the flames while retreating to Su Nan’s side, letting out a low hiss.

Su Nan chuckled softly, “Nicely done.”

Hoch squinted his eyes, staring intently at Su Nan’s side.

Although there was nothing visible, it was as if he could clearly see the position of the Hidden Dragon.

“Just like reported, a beast capable of perfect invisibility.”

“But if you think you can defeat me like this, you underestimate legendary knights.”

At this level of legendary knight, determining the enemy’s position no longer solely relied on eyesight, but more on perception.

Unless one’s presence can be entirely concealed, a legendary knight can still determine the enemy’s location through perception, regardless of whether sight, sound, or smell is perfectly masked.

At the hall entrance, Giller was watching this scene with a disdainful expression.

    “It’s useless, Su Nan.”

“The power of legendary knights far surpasses your imagination. Your tricks are useless against Sir Hoch!”

Ignoring Giller’s sarcasm, Su Nan didn’t bother to respond.

Among those present, including Hoch himself, none could rival Su Nan’s understanding of legendary knights.

In his previous life, he’d defeated not hundreds, but at least dozens of legendary knights.

Some even had mastery over spatial power.

In comparison, Hoch was quite average.

Though somewhat troublesome, it wasn’t beyond his capacity to handle.

“I have to spend money again.”

Su Nan sighed, flipping his wrist, revealing a few glittering elemental gems in his palm.
