Chapter Index

Mo Lan had figured it out by now — even Sorceresses had body structures similar to humans. Hit an artery, and blood would still spray everywhere.

She looked at her own arm, drew on injection knowledge from her Earth memories, located a vein, and gently inserted the needle, injecting all the blood from the syringe into her body.

Then she gently withdrew the syringe, dismissed the blood fusion spell, and immediately pressed a fingertip — cleaned with a Cleaning spell — against the injection site.

After a moment, she lifted her finger. The puncture had already stopped bleeding, with only a tiny bit of red on her fingertip.

“I don’t really feel anything after the injection!”

“One injection won’t have much effect. And since you’re using Sorceress Magic with reduced potency, you’ll need even more injections before you see results. But that’s not important.”

Lilith grabbed her hand, staring at the needle mark with utter disbelief.

“You only bled this little? How is that possible! At the very least, you should bleed enough to stain half a handkerchief! Even with my Self-healing, I’ve never bled this little from an injection!”

    Mo Lan: “…”

Good thing she hadn’t followed her senior’s example, or she’d be the one spraying blood everywhere right now!

“Senior! You really should learn some injection techniques!” Mo Lan said. “Valen has syringes, so surely there’s knowledge about proper injection methods?”

“Syringes are something the Vampires brought back from another world. They’re used for extracting blood, and only the Vampires have the inherited knowledge for them,” Amisha said.

“They’re only used for drawing blood?” Mo Lan asked in surprise.

    “Yes.” Amisha nodded.

Mo Lan was stunned. Whichever Vampire had brought this knowledge back clearly hadn’t learned the full picture!

No wonder Lilith’s Manifested Gift took the form of a syringe — her exclusive Mana had the authority to analyze and fuse blood. In Lilith’s understanding, the tool that best matched this function was probably a syringe.

“Lilith, you could write to your father and ask if there’s any inherited knowledge about this. I’ve seen other Vampires use syringes, and while they’re certainly not as dramatic as you, they don’t bleed as little as Moira either — just a small mouthful of blood,” Amisha said to Lilith.

“That’s right! My dad is already a Vampire Count, and every time he draws blood in his territory, those people and magical beasts still bleed a small mouthful! The only time there’s barely any bleeding is when you inject yourself, but that’s because of Self-healing. Next Sunday I can send a golden bird letter — I’ll write to Dad and ask about those injection techniques!” Lilith said.

“I can teach you too!” Mo Lan said. “Injection techniques are hard to learn just from written instructions. We happen to have free time during the holiday.”

She really didn’t want to see her senior spray blood with every needle again.

“No need, no need! I just want to understand those injection techniques so I can use them when drawing blood from other Races in the future.

Some blood isn’t from battle spoils — it’s from trades, and in those cases it wouldn’t be good to make people bleed too much.

As for myself, it doesn’t matter! Once I learn the technique, I’ll specifically aim for the spots that bleed the most!”

Lilith excitedly licked her little fangs.

Mo Lan’s eyes went wide. “Senior, are you serious?”

“Of course!” Lilith said. “Don’t you think bleeding a little puts you in a better mood?”

“No, I don’t.” Mo Lan scooted her chair backward, huddling together with Sylph and Vasida. “What do you two think?”

Sylph and Vasida hugged their arms tight and shook their heads vigorously. “Bleeding hurts!”

“Hehe, maybe it’s because of my Manifested Gift, or maybe my paternal bloodline, but I have a teeny tiny fondness for blood! But I’m not bloodthirsty, I promise — I’m a witch, and I absolutely would never harm the innocent!” Lilith said.

    Mo Lan: “…”

Thank goodness for the Book of Cards and its ability to create blood cards. Otherwise, with Lilith developing the Bloodthirst Needle in the future, she’d become bloodthirsty whether she meant to or not.

“Bleeding too much is bad for your health. Senior, you really should keep your little hobby in check!” Mo Lan advised. “Watching other people bleed is still better than hurting yourself!”

“Junior, that line of thinking is a bit dangerous!” Lilith recoiled a step in alarm.

    Mo Lan: “…”

What was with that startled look on her senior’s face?

She was the one who should be startled here, okay?

“Alright, alright. A Sorceress bleeding a little isn’t a big deal, but you must clean up any spilled blood promptly. Don’t give anyone the chance to come into contact with it — some blood curses are impossible to guard against!”

Carmela stood up and said, “It’s getting late. I’ll take my leave. If anything comes up, have your Headmistress contact me. I’ll be staying in Valen for quite some time.”

    “Goodbye, Lady Carmela!”

    “Goodbye!”

Lady Carmela waved at them, then stepped into a black void that had suddenly appeared.

    Lady Amisha followed close behind.

Just like that, only the three of them remained in the Dormitory.

Vasida was the first to stand. “I’m going back to read Mo Mo 《The Path of the Sorceress》!”

Mo Lan’s Sorceress Magic was already turning a profit, Lilith’s was finished and just waiting to go on public sale, and even Sylph had found her direction.

She was the only one who still didn’t even understand her own Devouring Stomach well enough.

She could barely follow what Mo Lan and the others said about exclusive Mana.

She had no idea what kind of Sorceress Magic she should even develop.

She knew so little that Mo Lan couldn’t even give her advice. She’d fallen too far behind!

Vasida planned to use this holiday to thoroughly research her Manifested Gift and Sorceress Magic, and catch up with her companions.

After she left, Sylph prepared to go as well. “Moira, I’ll cultivate more mutant plants as soon as I can and release my first Sorceress Magic! I’ll sell it to you at a discount.”

“How much of a discount?” Mo Lan perked up.

“How about I give you two mutant plant seeds for free?” Sylph said.

Mo Lan was a little disappointed. “No discount on the Sorceress Magic itself?”

“Of course not — Sorceress Magic costs permanent Mana!” Sylph said. “Moira, you can absolutely afford it!”

“Hahaha! Sylph has grown up too!” Lilith was beside herself with glee. “That’s right! Sylph, permanent Mana is not something you can afford to discount!”

Mo Lan clutched her chest. “I should have waited until you all developed your Sorceress Magic and signed contracts with me before telling you how to sell magic!”

She really had taken a huge loss! Who knew how much Mana she’d lose in the future!

    “Hahaha! Too late!”

Lilith packed up her dining table and left with Sylph in tow.

Mo Lan was left alone, mulling over just how much she’d lost.

“Forget it, forget it. A small loss is a small loss. The channel fees will earn it all back sooner or later! Hehe~”

They would never suspect that permanent Energy Storage Cards existed.

Just thinking about the future — how her channel partners would need to buy single-use Blank Energy Storage Cards from the Card marketplace in order to withdraw the Mana stored as Gem Coins in their Management Cards — Mo Lan felt perfectly at peace.
