    Chapter 213 – Simultaneous Spellcasting

The cards she had made this time were still just the basic version of video playback cards.

Earth’s electronic products were updated and replaced so quickly—she could continuously release “new” series as well.

Apart from communication and internet functions, which she currently had no way to solve, splitting out the other functions would be enough to make plenty of things.

She hadn’t thought carefully about any of this before.

Today, because of the issue with the number of Alchemy theory class hours, her thinking had suddenly broadened.

The few cards she had now were just a beginning.

First, she would focus on studying Magic properly. After graduation, she would set aside a dedicated period of time to ponder over the things from her Earth memories that were particularly special in Valen, turn them into cards, expand her card collection, and release them at the right time to earn Mana for herself.

“Well, that’s just great. We only had one elective class session, and who knows if there’ll even be any more elective classes in the future.” Vasida spread her hands:

“But the videotape recordings really are quite good. They’re much clearer than Mo-Pics. Fast-forwarding, rewinding, reviewing anytime—it’s all very convenient, and you don’t need to use a Recording Card to record audio anymore.

I’d bet the Witch Council definitely won’t refuse using this method to go through our witch heritage again.

Teaching videos are far more detailed than written textbooks.”

“In the future, can we just lie in bed, float the projector in front of our eyes, and attend class without even leaving our quilts?” Sylph was getting a little excited too.

“Not just staying under the covers—you can watch while cooking and making meals, watch while walking or riding a broomstick, and even set it beside you to listen while doing farm work or brewing potions! You can study and reinforce your knowledge anytime, anywhere. Everyone will definitely be able to learn so much more before graduation,” Mo Lan said.

Vasida and Sylph imagined that scenario and immediately felt their scalps tingling.

This was indeed something Mo Lan would do.

But… forgive them for being unable to follow suit.

“Oh! It’s getting late—we need to hurry back for lunch!” Vasida acted as though she had only just noticed the time, grabbing them and quickly leaving the classroom.

That afternoon, Mo Lan floated a large vegetable basket brimming with ingredients as she headed out to class, shocking a crowd of young witches:

    “Moira, are you…”

“This? It’s the dinner ingredients I prepared.”

Mo Lan said, “I’m bringing them along so I won’t have to come back to cook dinner before heading to the training grounds tonight.

Even though riding a broomstick from the Dormitory to the training grounds only takes a little over ten minutes, a round trip still takes close to half an hour…”

    The young witches: “…”

In plain terms, she just couldn’t bear to waste even that half hour, could she?

After just one day apart, Moira had become even more intense.

    Can’t compete. Simply can’t compete.

After Magic class ended, Mo Lan did indeed take out her Mobile Kitchen Card and set it up at the edge of the training grounds.

That much was fine—the young witches had all watched her float a vegetable basket to class, after all.

But what was outrageous was that she was actually practicing Magic and cooking at the same time.

The kitchen utensils inside the kitchen were bustling away in full swing.

Mo Lan stood not far away, firing “whoosh, whoosh, whoosh” at a Training Dummy.

Both sides were busy with their own work, neither holding the other up in the slightest.

“No, it actually is held up quite a bit. My attack frequency has dropped a lot, and the Culinary Magic is controlling several fewer utensils than normal.”

Facing the young witches who were watching in shocked disbelief, Mo Lan offered an objective explanation.

    The young witches: “…”

Could she at least let her Wand take a break while saying that?

This girl could actually spare the attention to listen to them and even respond—all while simultaneously using Culinary Magic and Vine Sorcery!

Witch Magic didn’t have any restriction preventing a witch from casting one spell while maintaining another.

But this was far more difficult than controlling multiple Attuned kitchen utensils. It required extremely strong magical control and proficiency. Vine Sorcery had only been learned a few days ago—even practicing day and night wouldn’t be enough to reach this level.

So the only possibility was Culinary Magic.

Even pure Advanced Culinary Magic alone couldn’t achieve this degree of control—just how deeply Attuned must Moira’s kitchen utensils be?!

Vasida and Sylph recalled the time they visited Mo Lan’s Dormitory and happened to see what her second-floor bedroom looked like: “It’s not strange. Not strange at all! After all, her bedroom has practically been turned into an Attuning chamber.”

When they had seen it before, they had been dismissive, even finding it somewhat bizarre and excessive.

But now, seeing the results of Mo Lan’s efforts in action, they only regretted not having started learning sooner.

    Bizarre? Excessive? But it works!

“What Attuning chamber?” The other young witches hadn’t been to Mo Lan’s Dormitory and didn’t understand what was going on.

“Everyone’s welcome to come visit my bedroom!” Mo Lan had actually set aside a bit of attention specifically for the young witches—all for this very moment!

She wanted to share the good methods with her friends and let everyone “enjoy” them together with her.

The young witches, their curiosity piqued, temporarily left the training grounds, went back to eat dinner, and then returned to continue practicing Magic.

Once they had used up most of their Mana, they worked on homework while waiting for Mo Lan to finish training.

So far, only one class—《Basic Mathematics》—had assigned homework.

Opening their workbooks, the young witches were dumbfounded.

“Is this still the same math we learned?” Iris was a bit dazed. “How do you calculate this again?”

The young witches looked at each other, and with remarkable unspoken agreement, they all opened their textbooks and began reviewing.

    “Got it now!”

The young witches scribbled away, writing out equations and calculating.

When they compared results: “Huh? We got different answers?”

    They calculated again.

Single-digit addition and subtraction posed no challenge at all to the young witches, who already had a concept of numbers and could count with incredible ease. That portion had been covered quickly in class, and they had already moved on to multi-digit addition.

Now the workbook was full of multi-digit addition problems.

And there was also a huge pile of word problems.

The textbook had similar contextual calculations, but they weren’t quite the same as the ones in the workbook.

Having completed the problems with full confidence, the twenty-five young witches produced seven or eight different answers, and their confidence immediately vanished.

Nobody knew whether their own calculation was correct.

Mo Lan finished using up her daily allotment of Mana and came over to glance at their work. “Quite a few wrong answers!”

Now the young witches knew which ones were wrong, but that only made their heads hurt more.

When the Headmistress or Moira explained it, they understood.

When they tried it themselves, they got it wrong.

The young witches: “Math is so hard!”

“Don’t be discouraged. Just do more practice problems, and you’ll gradually get the hang of it. When you’re not proficient, it’s easy to make careless mistakes!” Mo Lan comforted them. “I went through the same thing too—staring at problems with newly learned concepts, not knowing how to apply them. Just do more problems and it’ll be fine.

Do a little bit of this homework each day, and you’ll have it down by next week.”

“Now I understand why there’s so much math homework—turns out it’s meant for us to do a little every day!” Vasida had been practicing Magic earlier and hadn’t joined in.

Only now, seeing the young witches’ “pitiful state,” did she come over to look.

    How terrifying!
