Chapter 526 – Lilith’s Plans
by spirapiraChapter 526 – Lilith’s Plans
“I’d like to hold an advanced wild mage experience-sharing seminar here and present some of my magical theories. Would you mind if I borrowed your fine establishment for it?” Mo Lan said.
The opportunity today was too good to pass up. With so many mages gathered here, every one of them flush with coin, she might as well hold the experience-sharing seminar right now and save Lilith and the others the trouble of having to promote it separately.
Mages who could replenish their energy and stamina through meditation surely wouldn’t mind staying up a few extra hours for an experience-sharing seminar, right?
Realization dawned in Zelina’s heart.
The last piece of the puzzle that hadn’t made sense now fell into place.
Why would a mage answer questions for people free of charge? Unless she wanted something too.
“Of course!”
Mo Lan looked toward her three Apprentices.
Lilith, Sylph, and Vasida already had experience with this. They hadn’t thought to take advantage of the mages gathered for this auction before, but now that Mo Lan had mentioned it, they immediately knew what to do.
After the final auction item was sold, Lilith walked over to the auction platform made of pushed-together tables, climbed up, and announced loudly: “Next, my Instructor would like to hold an experience-sharing seminar here. The entrance fee is one Magic Gold Coin or 120 regular gold coins. Every attendee will receive a free {Dawn Society Invitation Card}! If you’re interested, come register with us. The experience-sharing seminar will officially begin in half an hour.”
Sylph and Vasida also climbed onto the auction platform.
The mages attending the auction had long been drawn in by the conversation between the two advanced mages. This was just a small auction hosted by a tavern after all—the items weren’t particularly precious.
Compared to the auction items, the insights of two advanced mages on magic were far more valuable.
No one had expected that the unfamiliar advanced mage—who clearly possessed knowledge far deeper than the tavern owner’s—would actually hold an experience-sharing seminar, and at such a low fee. Who didn’t have a single Magic Gold Coin? And if not that, who couldn’t scrape together a hundred and twenty regular gold coins?
And they’d even get a {Dawn Society Invitation Card} on top of it!
Even those who had already won cards at the auction could give this one to another mage they knew—no loss at all!
In an instant, the mages present who had money paid on the spot to register, while those who didn’t have enough borrowed money just to sign up.
Half an hour later, the experience-sharing seminar began right on schedule.
Thanks to Mo Lan’s earlier demonstration of her knowledge, after she finished presenting those ancient mage cultivation concepts that clashed with mainstream thinking, the mages in attendance—though they had questions—didn’t dare suspect she was spouting nonsense. Not a single one of them let even a hint of doubt show on their face.
This left Mo Lan without any excuse to name-drop the Imperial Magic Academy to bolster her credibility. She stepped down from the platform with a tinge of regret.
Back in her room, her Communication Card wouldn’t stop buzzing with messages.
【Zelina: Ahhh! I actually ran into Lady Moira!】
【Zelina: Lady Moira’s Card Magic is incredible, and the 《Dawn Society Plan》 is absolutely brilliant! How did you come up with it?!】
【Zelina: Lady Moira, your disguise as an advanced mage today was completely flawless—how did you pull that off? Does Alan Graham’s 《Cost-Effective Spell Combinations Centered on Fire-Element Magic》 actually exist?】
【Zelina: Lady Moira, I’d also love to add Lady Lilith, Lady Sylph, and Lady Vasida! I’m a huge fan of their Sorceress Magic too!】
【Zelina: Elder Sorceresses, rest assured—I will do my utmost to expand the Dawn Society’s reach among mages!】
…
Zelina was completely different from how she’d presented herself in the tavern.
In the tavern, she had been a mature, elegant mage. In her messages, she was like a fan who had just met her idol.
Mo Lan answered each of her messages one by one, then shared her communication number with Lilith, Vasida, and Sylph.
The three of them also added Zelina as a friend.
Then came the same barrage of messages. Her excitement and admiration could be felt even through the cards.
Lilith, Vasida, and Sylph were flattered, but even more than that, they were at a loss.
Since when had they become Sorceresses that senior Witches looked up to?
What had they done to deserve the admiration of senior Witches?
In their hearts, Zelina was the senior one.
And they were still hiding their identities, still a long way from being true Sorceresses.
Zelina had mentioned the Dawn Society plan and their Sorceress Magic—was that why?
But the Dawn Society plan was Mo Lan’s brainchild!
At that moment, a thought quietly took root in the hearts of all three.
The next day, the magic carriage set off again, continuing along the southwestern main trade road.
A few months later, they made a brief stop in Oran City, the capital of the Kingdom of Oran, and held another experience-sharing seminar.
Witches had already been spreading the {Dawn Society Invitation Card} in Oran City beforehand.
After the magic carriage left Oran City, the thought that had taken root in Lilith’s, Vasida’s, and Sylph’s hearts had already grown into a towering tree.
“Moira, I don’t want to go to Etheris anymore.” Lilith was the first to speak.
Vasida and Sylph, who had still been hesitating, made up their minds at once and said simultaneously: “Me neither.”
Mo Lan wasn’t particularly surprised. Ever since Horne City, Lilith, Vasida, and Sylph had clearly had something weighing on their minds.
They still studied diligently every day, but the books they read were no longer about mage magic or Witch Magic.
One was reading books about the Land of Chaos, another was studying Draconic texts, and the third was reading books in Elvish.
Mo Lan had already formed some guesses, but she still asked: “Tell me—why? If you’re not going to Etheris, what are your plans?”
“When we first graduated, all we could think about was spreading our magic. The Dawn Society idea you came up with, Moira, was perfect. Our Sorceress Magic contract cards are listed in the Dawn Society’s marketplace, so we never have to worry about finding people to form contracts anymore.
So we just kept following you, working on Dawn Society matters together.
But now, Witches all across Valen are secretly promoting the Dawn Society. Witches in Horne City and Oran City are already spreading the word in secret, and I imagine Etherlance will be no different.
At the rate the Dawn Society is expanding, promotion will soon no longer be an issue.
I’ve been thinking lately—if I no longer need to promote the Dawn Society, what do I actually want to do?
Learning mage magic doesn’t come as naturally to me as Witch Magic, and it’s not as immediately effective as my Sorceress Magic.
If I want to grow stronger as quickly as possible, I need to develop more Blood Magic.
So I want to go to the Land of Chaos. Multiple races live there side by side—the vast majority of races found in Valen can be found there. It’s the best place for me to obtain blood samples from different races.
I want to go there and research more Blood Magic, to make Witches stronger and stronger!”
Lilith said.
Like Anita, she had no intention of selling powerful Sorceress Magic to other races—but she wanted to research more and more powerful Blood Magic to make Witches stronger.
