    Chapter 842 – Starault Hall

Even after all that, Lan Qiqi hadn’t forgotten Mo Lan’s original purpose for coming.

It produced a scroll from somewhere and tossed it to Mo Lan. “Now that we’ve finished the important discussion — come on, sign this contract, and you’ll officially become a member of Starault Hall.”

Mo Lan gave the contract a quick read.

The terms were quite simple, mainly covering two things: sharing knowledge and experience gained from cosmic travel, and maintaining confidentiality regarding the knowledge within Starault Hall.

After Mo Lan finished signing, Lan Qiqi took back the contract, hopped lightly down from the chair, and gave an elegant flick of its tail tip. A new doorway appeared on the wall. “Follow me — Starault Hall hasn’t had a new member in years!”

Stepping through the door, the view opened up dramatically.

Before her eyes stretched an incomparably vast hall with extraordinarily high ceilings. The dome above displayed flowing nebula illusions, with soft light cascading down from within.

The most striking feature was the array of bookshelves in various styles standing throughout the hall.

Some were carved from sections of thick ancient wood, others sculpted from condensed ice, and still others assembled from metal components… Each was unique in form, brimming with the personality of its owner.

Every bookshelf was clearly marked with a Witch’s name.

“This is the archive section of Starault Hall,” Lan Qiqi explained as it led the way. “Every member of Starault Hall has their own display shelf for storing the knowledge and experience gained during cosmic travel.”

As it spoke, it lightly tapped a paw in the air. An empty area at the edge of the hall stretched as if pulled by invisible hands, expanding further.

    “This space is for you.”

It pointed its tail toward the newly expanded area. “You can place a bookshelf here in whatever style you like. In the future, whenever you undertake cosmic travel, you’ll need to prepare a copy of any knowledge you gain and store it here for other members to consult and reference.

You’re allowed to transcribe all materials here into your own Grimoire to take away for study. However, any form of external dissemination or profit-making is strictly forbidden.

Knowledge sharing — but only within Starault Hall!”

    Mo Lan nodded. “I understand.”

This was likely the truly precious hidden knowledge of Valen.

At the very least, she had never heard anything about cosmic travel while at the Explorer’s Camp, let alone knowledge sharing on the subject.

After Lan Qiqi told her how to come here on her own in the future, it departed.

Mo Lan hadn’t yet undertaken any cosmic travel, so she could only place an empty bookshelf here for now. Then she took her Grimoire and went to transcribe materials from the other Witches’ shelves.

With the mirror space that could alter the flow of time, she naturally preferred to do her reading and studying back inside the mirror space.

She had deliberately cleared out all the previously stored books from her Grimoire before coming, preparing blank pages in advance. Now she just needed to transcribe everything one by one.

Every single document here was incredibly precious, but in terms of quantity, they could hardly be called abundant.

Even among the Witch race, where every member was a spellcaster, only ninety-eight individuals had broken through to Sixth Rank and gained access to cosmic travel over all these years. Mo Lan was the ninety-ninth Witch to arrive here.

In just half a day’s time, with the blank pages prepared in her Grimoire still not fully used up, she had already transcribed every available document in the entire Starault Hall archive.

After leaving Starault Hall, she immediately returned to the study in the mirror space of her Witch’s home. She adjusted the time flow rate and prioritized selecting the core knowledge on cosmic travel vessel blueprints, exploration star charts, and travel journals.

After reading through these materials, a detailed document titled “Mirror Space: Cosmic Travel Vessel Conversion Plan” was laid out on her desk.

This was the optimal conversion plan she had designed for her Witch’s home mirror space, combining the experience of her predecessors in building cosmic travel vessels.

Senior Traci’s eye for potential was truly sharp.

Her mirror space was indeed very well suited for conversion into a cosmic navigation vessel — high level, well-established rules, resilient boundary membrane. More importantly, it could exist within a palm-sized mirror card, which minimized the vessel’s power requirements and gave it an innate advantage in concealment.

Next, she would need to install a protective outer shell on the space’s main body, and permanently layer multiple composite magic circles on the boundary membrane to enhance its defense and concealment effects, making it capable of withstanding prolonged exposure to standard void energy erosion, small meteorite streams, and potential energy storms.

Then she needed to construct a spatial leap propulsion system. This step required extensive use of spatial materials, since cosmic travel was essentially continuous spatial leaps. The spatial Material Cards she had brought back from the Three Thousand Mirror Ruins would prove extremely useful here.

Additionally, she needed to build a Mana supply system using ordinary Mana crystals or disposable Mana as primary fuel.

Furthermore, to avoid getting lost in the boundless universe, she would need to construct a positioning and navigation device called a “Star Sea Compass.” It could record coordinates, chart star maps, and detect the world consciousness states of different worlds, identifying suitable zero-level worlds and endangered worlds for landing.

Mo Lan had already expanded the Witch’s home and prepared a central control room, where she would set up a three-dimensional magical projection sand table to display real-time information on the vessel’s status, external environment, navigation maps, and energy reserves. This would essentially serve as the cockpit in the future.

As for supply stockpiling — for other cosmic travel vessels, this was the most critical step of all, since cosmic journeys could easily last decades or even centuries, and until a suitable world was found for docking, everything consumed had to come from pre-prepared supplies.

But for a vessel made from a mirror space, this step could be skipped entirely.

Resources within the mirror space could achieve internal circulation, eliminating any concerns about living supplies during travel.

In this plan, neither materials nor techniques posed any problem for Mo Lan.

The top-tier materials for constructing the vessel’s outer shell — Star Steel and Void Whale blubber — Senior Traci had already uploaded samples and created corresponding cards, which could be purchased directly.

Although production costs were somewhat high, Mo Lan could well afford them. Moreover, since the main body of her mirror space was very small, the outer shell she needed to build didn’t have to be very large either, requiring relatively little material.

As for the techniques needed to construct the vessel, with Mo Lan’s level of Alchemy Magic, learning them was merely a matter of time.

And time was something she had plenty of now.

Mo Lan treated the vessel construction as a new Alchemy Magic trial, approaching it with a learner’s mindset and patiently delving into her research.

Whenever she grew weary, she would take out some beast cores to analyze the skill imprints within them, stroll through the ecological zone of her mirror space, or go out to meet up with her Witch friends for gatherings and vacations around Valen.

Her research and study took place in the Witch’s home study where time flowed rapidly. Once she stepped out of the study, she could truly take some time to relax and enjoy life.
