Chapter Index

“Of course I do! I knew you’d be interested in this!”

Vasida wore an expression that said “I knew you’d ask,” and without hesitation pulled a card from her card album and handed it to Mo Lan.

“Here, this is a comprehensive {Knowledge Card} about Guru Guru World that I painstakingly organized!

“It contains not only the books, ingredient guides, and many ancient secret recipes I’ve collected through various channels over the years in Guru Guru World, but also all my personal insights and exclusive annotations from studying culinary magic. Everything related to culinary magic is in there, from the basics to the most advanced techniques.”

Mo Lan’s eyes lit up, and she accepted the card without the slightest hesitation.

The few of them had long since developed an unspoken understanding—whenever they explored other worlds and came across things that might interest or be useful to the others, they would collect them.

Sylph loved all manner of exotic plant seeds. Lilith was devoted to researching the blood of different magical races. Mo Lan herself was most interested in the magical knowledge systems of other worlds. And Vasida refused nothing—her Devouring Stomach and culinary magic could find a use for nearly anything.

“Perfect timing—I have things for you all too.” As Mo Lan spoke, she willed her Book of Cards into existence with a thought and drew out several cards she had prepared in advance.

She first handed three identical {Knowledge Cards} to Lilith, Vasida, and Sylph respectively.

“These {Knowledge Cards} contain the cultivation techniques, arts, and supernatural powers from the Immortal Realm that I organized, extracted, and translated from the memories of five Dao Ancestors.”

To ensure the three of them took this seriously enough, Mo Lan made a point of emphasizing:

“Don’t dismiss the cultivation world’s magic system just because it differs from ours. Different paths lead to the same destination—at their core, they’re all applications of magical energy, and they hold immense reference value for our research into both Witch Magic and mage magic.

“It was precisely by drawing on these that I was able to advance my magic level to where it is now so quickly.

“My personal insights from studying these materials, as well as my cross-comparative notes between the cultivation system, the Witch Magic system, and the mage magic system, are all included. Make sure you read them—they should be helpful to you.”

Lilith, Vasida, and Sylph had just been spurred on by Mo Lan’s achievements and were already harboring thoughts of studying harder and advancing their magic levels. They each accepted their cards with due solemnity.

Having Mo Lan’s experience as reference would certainly be better than fumbling through it on their own.

Next, Mo Lan drew out a separate {Spatial Card} and handed it to Sylph.

“Sylph, this contains seeds of locally unique magical plants that I noticed and collected across sixteen different worlds, including White Crystal Star, Celestial Profound Realm, and Verdant Depths Realm. The varieties are rather diverse—I hope they’ll help with your breeding of new species.”

Sylph hadn’t yet studied many magical plants from cultivation worlds. She received these like a treasure and didn’t forget to give Mo Lan the hollow tree saplings she had been longing for, along with mutant hollow tree seeds that produced even better results and detailed cultivation instructions.

When it was Lilith’s turn, Mo Lan presented a {Spatial Card} full of blood samples.

“This contains blood samples and detailed profiles of White Crystal People and various demonic beasts and spirit beasts unique to the cultivation world. I thought you’d be interested.”

“Thanks!” Lilith handed over several {Knowledge Cards} of her own, containing magical knowledge she had gathered and compiled during her own explorations of other worlds.

Finally, Mo Lan produced five storage immortal artifacts of varying styles, each containing an enormously vast space within, and gave them all to Vasida.

“These are the personal storage immortal artifacts of the five Dao Ancestors I killed. I’ve already sampled most of what was originally inside and turned them into cards. What’s left are some rare treasures and precious materials unique to the Immortal Realm—all with extremely powerful energy fluctuations. They’re of no use to me. I originally planned to feed them to your Devouring Stomach, but now it seems they’d be perfect as ingredients for your culinary magic research!”

Vasida immediately began examining what was inside. “Oh my! These energy fluctuations—as expected of materials from a Fourteenth Rank world!”

Each of them having obtained things of personal interest, they all simultaneously buried themselves in the knowledge, seeds, blood samples, and ingredients in their hands.

For a time, the lakeside meadow fell quiet, with only the soft rustle of wind brushing through the grass.

After a while, Lilith was the first to look up. She carefully put away the {Knowledge Card} and blood samples Mo Lan had given her, then stood. “I need to go back and analyze these blood samples immediately. I’ll head out first!”

Vasida gingerly transferred all the rare treasures and precious materials from the storage immortal artifacts into {Spatial Cards} with preservation functions for safekeeping. “I need to go back and properly research how to cook these things too. I’ll contact you all once I have results!”

Sylph rose as well. “These plants have rather long growth cycles—I need to go back and get them planted. And also…”

She paused, a look of resolve crossing her face. “About the matter of taking on the role of Headmistress—I think I need to have another proper talk with Madam Amisha.”

They said their goodbyes to one another, agreed on when to meet again, and Mo Lan opened the door of the Witch’s home to see them off.

The moment the door closed, she didn’t waste a single second. Her figure flickered and she appeared directly in her study.

She adjusted the magical clock on her study desk, setting the time flow rate to its maximum. This way, she would have long, ample stretches of research time within her study.

Mo Lan first used the {Knowledge Card} Vasida had given her, reading through the knowledge it contained.

At the same time, she didn’t forget to set aside time to open the Card Shop and systematically study the various new cards that her Sorceress friends and the wider community of Witch Explorers had listed during her absence from Valen.

The wisdom of the collective was boundless, and the shop was a vast repository of knowledge.

The blood fusion spells that Lilith had developed based on her research into the blood of powerful magical races from other worlds could transform certain race-specific bloodline abilities into magical abilities that could be gradually mastered through blood fusion. “Titan Gigantification,” “Eternal Youth,” “Limb Regeneration”… the effects were varied and diverse, and many were passive innate abilities that could not be replicated by magic.

Though Sylph had personally visited only one other world—Dreamweaver World—she had researched and cultivated no small number of magical plants from other worlds. Various {Hybrid Magic Cards} and {Mutant Plant Seed Cards} emerged in an endless stream; some could be used in combat, others had supportive enhancement effects, and still others could be used for resource production. The potential was limitless.

And of course, she didn’t pass up the newly listed {Material Cards} from Guru Guru World in Vasida’s shop either.

Using the culinary magic knowledge from the {Knowledge Card} as her guide, Mo Lan attempted to cook these materials of varying properties, learning culinary magic and researching culinary Seed Cards simultaneously.

This knowledge and these materials from her Sorceress friends and fellow Witches broadened the boundaries of her understanding, deepened her foundational reserves, and enhanced her comprehensive ability to handle complex situations—no less important than advancing her magic level.

Once she had thoroughly digested all of this and converted it into knowledge and strength that was truly her own, she would face any future challenge with greater confidence and more options at her disposal.
