Chapter 906 – The Time-Forged Artifact Spirit
by spirapiraVasida also noticed: “Senior Anita learned my dietary recovery magic too!”
Mo Lan immediately grasped the key insight:
“The Time-Forged Artifact Spirit race that Senior Anita transformed into — I later found relevant information about them in the Sorceress seniors’ universe travel journals.
Time-Forged Artifact Spirits are intelligent life forms born from magical items. They can strengthen themselves by continuously smelting suitable magical materials, achieving evolution in both their life tier and magical power.
Even when they grow to higher ranks and can shapeshift into forms resembling humans or other creatures, that’s mostly mimicry and morphological change at the energy level. Their core essence remains fundamentally different from flesh-and-blood life — they don’t have the same dietary needs as living beings.
But now it seems that ‘Gourmet Hypersense’ awakened Senior Anita’s sense of taste, and the dietary recovery magic along with the {Dietary Fortification Card} allow her to digest energy from food… Senior Anita can not only enjoy delicious food again, she can also efficiently convert the energy from food to strengthen herself!”
Anita swallowed the food in her mouth and added excitedly: “That’s not all! With your {Magic Cards}, I can use Witch Magic — which only witches are supposed to cast — just as smoothly as before. Some of them even work better than when I cast them myself!”
“And there’s more,” Anita took a bite of pastry and said, her words muffled but brimming with joy, “Sylph’s Hybrid Magic can actually let me bear children like a real witch! And my fireworks magic has become my innate gift magic as an Artifact Spirit. Apart from needing to continuously smelt magical materials to accumulate Artifact Spirit power, and then using Source Mana crystals to gradually convert that Artifact Spirit power into Mana, everything else is pretty much the same as before!”
“Senior, does that mean fireworks magic can be reopened to everyone through Contract Magic again?” Mo Lan keenly seized upon the crucial point, her tone tinged with anticipation.
Back then, she hadn’t had the chance to truly test the power of fireworks magic before Anita’s incident — it had always been a lingering regret in her heart.
“Of course!” Anita patted her current true body, the Fireworks Wand. “A Time-Forged Artifact Spirit’s innate gift magic, just like a Sorceress’s Manifested Gift, touches upon the level of laws. If I hadn’t had the Fireworks Wand as a core vessel back then, I never could have successfully transformed into an Artifact Spirit.
Once I’ve thoroughly studied the {Management Card} you had Amisha and the others bring me, I’ll turn the Firework Blast contract directly into a card and list it in the witch edition of the Card Shop! Then everyone can simply purchase the contract to learn it!”
“Don’t forget about the Firework Blast {Magic Cards}!” Cecilia hurried to add. “The kind that are single-use cards you can cast directly!”
“I know, I know!” Anita agreed with a laugh. “I’ll prepare both the contracts and the Magic Cards for you — I guarantee no one will dare mess with you when you go out!”
Pushila said with delight: “Wonderful! If we can use the powerful Firework Blasts again, when we face Dao Ancestor realm cultivators, perhaps we won’t need to rely on overwhelming numbers anymore. We could just use Psychic Magic to seize control of the Dao Ancestor cultivator’s primordial spirit, then bombard their physical body with Firework Blasts! It would even save us some energy.”
The devastating power of Firework Blasts was unmatched by any other magic.
For the same Mana expenditure, the destructive power of Firework Blasts always far exceeded that of other spells.
“Wait,” Anita blinked and exchanged puzzled looks with Traci, Carmela, and Amisha. “Dao Ancestor realm cultivators? You’re planning to go to a cultivation-type world?”
“Not just me — all of us!” Cecilia clearly and concisely explained to the three newly arrived Sorceress seniors and Madam Amisha everything they had previously discussed about the Immortal Realm, the ascension passages, and the cooperative plan to rescue cultivation worlds.
Mo Lan also used the Book of Cards to quickly produce several {Knowledge Cards — Mo Lan’s Universe Travel Journal} and handed them over. “Please take a look!”
After quickly reading through everything, expressions of shock appeared on all their faces.
“Eighth Rank?!” Anita was the first to jump up. She struck an exaggeratedly solemn pose, clasping her fists in a formal salute: “My deepest respects!”
Mo Lan was so startled she jumped up too: “Senior, you…”
“No, no, no!” Anita hastily waved her hands. “From now on, you’re the senior! Senior Moira, you absolutely must bring me along on this mission! I’m only just at Sixth Rank right now, but I can smelt more magical materials along the way, so I should be beyond Sixth Rank by then!”
Traci watched them defer to each other and couldn’t help but laugh and shake her head, speaking up to end their battle over the title of “senior”:
“That’s enough. In Starault Hall, there are no rigid distinctions between seniors and juniors. We are all fellow travelers exploring the mysteries of the universe together — just call each other by name.”
Amisha gazed at Mo Lan, her eyes slightly unfocused, then let out a soft sigh, her tone carrying an indescribable mix of emotion and pride:
“It’s truly… unbelievable. I still remember how you looked when you first entered the Witch Academy, as if it were only yesterday. Even at graduation, you didn’t look much different from how you do now.
I never imagined that in the blink of an eye, you’d already become an Eighth Rank Sorceress!”
Over the years, she had been using the Headmistress’s Golden Chalice’s avatar function to practice magic. All her magic levels had long since caught up with her Mana rank, and it was time to explore other worlds to accumulate Mana and advance.
This opportunity — she absolutely would not miss it!
Traci looked at Mo Lan, her tone gentle yet carrying a note of seriousness: “Moira, are you sure you want to cooperate with everyone to rescue so many worlds? Even if everyone learns the coordinates of the Immortal Realm, without your permission, no matter how much time passes, no one would go and claim the rescuable worlds you discovered!”
Mo Lan nodded without hesitation and repeated the same words she had used to persuade the other witches earlier.
“Then let us discuss this plan in detail!” Traci’s expression grew ever more solemn. The worlds Mo Lan had discovered held even greater significance for the Sorceresses.
Their Sorceress Magic could also be spread throughout these worlds through Card Magic, earning both permanent Mana and disposable Mana. When that time came, their power would surely surge.
“When the time comes, I’ll personally go observe the Immortal Realm from outside. Using the Omniscient Book, I should be able to assess the state of the Immortal Realm’s source power. A single observation should let me estimate roughly how many Dao Ancestors we need to slay before the Immortal Realm’s world tier drops. Once its world tier falls, we can rescue the Spirit Realm without any concerns.”
Carmela, meanwhile, was reviewing the preliminary cooperative contract Mo Lan had drafted: “The terms in this contract are basically fine. We just need to add one more clause — if the mission fails, the risks are borne individually.”
The risk of this venture was actually already very small, but it wasn’t entirely nonexistent.
