Chapter Index

After chatting with the Headmistress’s clones for quite a while and satisfying all their curiosity, Mo Lan and the others reluctantly followed Sylph down a concealed spiral staircase to the level below the Headmistress’s Lounge.

“There’s such a huge space down here!” Lilith exclaimed in surprise, gazing at the expansive area before her.

“I know! I’ve been to the Headmistress’s Lounge so many times before, and I never once discovered there was another level below!” Mo Lan was equally astonished.

“The upper floor is mainly the rest and work area for the Teaching Headmistress and Guardian Headmistress clones. This level is for the Headmistress’s main body and the other clones that handle personal affairs,” Sylph explained.

The clone function of the Headmistress’s Golden Chalice, beyond serving the Academy’s teaching and administration, was itself one of the most important perks of the Headmistress position.

Among the Witches who actually applied to become Headmistress, very few were drawn by the fixed annual salary of 100 units of Source Mana crystals and 10,000 ordinary Mana crystals. The overwhelming majority sought the clone function that allowed them to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, vastly improving both efficiency and personal freedom.

After Madam Amisha had vacated this space earlier, Sylph had simply decorated it to her own taste—perfect for entertaining her close friends.

With clones handling the Academy’s myriad affairs, the Headmistress’s main body was completely free to attend to her own matters.

The group had barely sat down when Vasida felt the Communication Card she carried with her begin to flash rapidly.

She pulled out the card, a look of surprise crossing her face. “It’s Igniwa? Didn’t he swear up and down last time that he was cutting ties with me for a hundred years?”

With some curiosity, she opened the message window.

The next second, her eyes flew wide open. She couldn’t help letting out a soft gasp and immediately projected the communication for everyone to see.

【Igniwa: Vasida! Quick, look! It’s the Fireworks Witch! Lady Anita is here! She’s fighting my mother! [image] [image] [image]】

The photos Igniwa sent in rapid succession showed a magnificent Dragon island in the background.

In the first photo, the true form of an enormous red Dragon—vast enough to blot out the sky—radiated boundless draconic might, while Anita stood opposite her, wielding that legendary Fireworks Wand. Her posture was utterly composed, and fireworks like rivers of flowing fire had already painted half the sky as though it were a festival. Even from a still image, one could feel the heart-stopping aura of destruction.

In the second photo, ancient dragon breath hot enough to melt mountains collided head-on with a supremely concentrated, dazzlingly brilliant Firework Blast, detonating into terrifying ripples that warped the very fabric of space.

In the third photo, a single solidified Firework Blast from Anita struck the dragon’s body with pinpoint precision, blasting the red Dragon into the azure sea below and sending a towering column of water surging skyward.

【Igniwa: Did you see that?! That’s the Fireworks Witch! I knew it! I just knew she was still alive! All those rumors about her death were complete nonsense! She’s just as impossibly powerful as she’s always been!】

【Igniwa: I grew up watching Lady Anita and my mom have their “friendly” sparring matches! Even though my mom is universally acknowledged as the strongest dragon, she could never beat the Fireworks Witch, whose Mana rank is actually a bit lower than hers. A Sorceress whose fireworks alone rival natural disasters—how could she possibly just die like that!】

【Igniwa: I’m begging you, Vasida! For the sake of how badly you beat me up last time, please help me get Lady Anita’s personal autograph! If you can get it, I’ll immediately take back everything I said about cutting ties! No—I’ll owe you a Dragon-favor!】

Igniwa was still bombarding her with excited messages, every line overflowing with desperate longing for that autograph. Vasida’s Communication Card blinked without pause. The scene finally broke Mo Lan and the others, and they burst out laughing.

“I never would have guessed that Igniwa is a die-hard fan of Senior Anita!” Sylph’s voice carried a note of wonder.

Vasida looked equally baffled. She glanced at the sky-blotting red Dragon in the projection, then back at the familiar “defeated opponent” in the chat, and murmured, “I had no idea… his mother is actually Meridis, the strongest dragon? Then how is he… so weak?”

“How is he weak?” Lilith couldn’t help but speak up in Igniwa’s defense. She pointed at the apocalyptic battle scene in the projection. “Who are you comparing him to? His mother? Senior Anita? He’s already the strongest of the Dragon race’s younger generation, isn’t he? It’s not that he’s too weak, Vasida—it’s that you’re too strong!”

“Oh, I wish I could go watch in person!” Mo Lan gazed at those battle images brimming with power and beauty, her voice full of longing and regret.

A clash at this Peak level—even still images alone were enough to set one’s heart racing.

It wasn’t that she couldn’t go. She simply had reservations. Tagging along would inevitably look like she was there to gawk.

Meridis the red Dragon was, after all, one of the Dragon race’s leaders and an elder. Having just been blasted into the sea, the scene was surely rather undignified.

If younger members of the generation were to witness it, she would likely feel her dignity compromised, which could in turn affect the critically important negotiations to follow.

For the sake of the bigger picture, Mo Lan could only suppress her curiosity.

“I’ve got it!” Vasida’s eyes lit up as she thought of a solution that would satisfy everyone. “I’ll have Igniwa secretly record the fight! He can trade the battle footage for Senior Anita’s autograph!”

She immediately lowered her head and fired off a message to Igniwa at lightning speed.

Almost the instant the message was sent, Igniwa’s reply came flashing back:

【Igniwa: What kind of problem is that? To be perfectly honest, I started recording ages ago! I’ve been filming from the very first second they squared off! I’ll send you a copy when it’s done! But whatever you do, do NOT let it leak! If this gets out, my mom will kill me! Well, killing me would be one thing—but if she takes the chance to confiscate my secret stash, that would truly be the death of me!】

Afterward, Mo Lan and the others excitedly followed Sylph to tour the legendary spatial greenhouse where the Sprite clan resided. Immersed in that vibrant, flourishing great greenhouse, they temporarily set aside the fierce battle on Dragon Isle.

It wasn’t until nightfall that new messages finally arrived from Igniwa’s end.

He sent over the complete, ultra-high-definition battle video, faithfully capturing every spectacular moment from the initial standoff to the final conclusion.

Mo Lan, Lilith, and Sylph immediately had Vasida forward it. Each of them received a copy, treasuring it as though they’d found a priceless gem.

Before long, all of their Communication Cards vibrated in unison.

In the core group chat of Starault Hall, a message from Anita popped up:

【Anita: Done! One Permanent Realm-friend Invitation to the Seran world, plus one limited-time Realm-friend Invitation with four hundred and twenty years left on it—both secured! So when are we heading out to the Immortal Realm star region?】
