Chapter Index

Leaping along the ascension passages one after another, even with the need to scout safe transit routes and install Signal Amplifiers along the way, in less than a year, all the Sorceresses, Witches, dragons, and Elves participating in the “Immortal Realm Subjugation Plan” had successfully reached the lower cultivation worlds connected to the ascension passages.

Everything proceeded according to the standardized methods outlined in the 《Immortal Realm Subjugation Plan》, personally verified by Mo Lan herself.

Before severing an ascension passage, entering a cultivation world, or departing from one, divinations were always cast first to assess fortune and misfortune.

If the divination results were favorable, Firework Blasts would be used to swiftly blast apart the ascension passage.

The Witches had already re-signed contracts with Anita, obtaining authorization to use fireworks magic. The Dragons and Elves could also use {Magic Card – Firework Blast}. Until this plan concluded, they all held temporary permissions to redeem Firework Blast {Magic Cards}.

Compared to how a Seventh Rank Firework Blast could instantly unleash destructive power rivaling Ninth Rank Magic, a single Firework Blast was more than enough to sever an ascension passage between the Immortal Realm and the Spirit Realm.

After severing the ascension passage, Star Language would be used to communicate and negotiate cooperation with the cultivation world’s world consciousness.

Though the details of these negotiations varied depending on each cultivation world’s factional leanings, with Divination Magic providing advance assessments, they essentially never came away empty-handed.

Then came introducing Card Magic, promoting the cultivation world’s transformation into a magic world, and helping it completely break free from the Immortal Realm’s threat.

For something beneficial to both sides, virtually no world consciousness would refuse.

Once cooperation was established, {Magic Card – Memory Reading} could be used to read the memories of that world’s intelligent beings, gathering information about local customs, cultural beliefs, and even aesthetic preferences.

After this vast trove of data was compiled, it would be sent to Mo Lan via {Communication Card}, transmitted through the signal network they had constructed.

Mo Lan would then adjust the time flow in her study, speed-reading through these materials and using them as a blueprint to design a version of Card Magic completely tailored to that world’s style, each one unique and distinctive.

Afterward, customized invitation letters and Contract Document Cards would be produced and distributed into the {Dividend Card} albums that each participant in the “Immortal Realm Subjugation” plan carried, to be spread by them throughout the world.

The plan progressed with unexpected smoothness.

One after another, cultivation worlds had their ascension passages severed. Thanks to Card Magic’s guidance, the old restriction that required spiritual roots for cultivation was broken. Psychic power-based cultivation methods rapidly gained popularity, and these worlds began swiftly transforming into magic worlds. Not only did each world’s source power recover quickly, but the flourishing development of magical systems provided new momentum for growth.

The network of light points on the {Signal Network Management Card} grew denser by the day. Good news of successful rescues and a steady stream of Mana revenue flowed continuously toward Mo Lan and every participant.

Yet the Dao Ancestors of the Immortal Realm, whom everyone had been warily watching for, never appeared.

From the moment the plan began until now, all one hundred and six participants — including Mo Lan herself — scattered across different worlds and along different ascension passage routes, not a single one had encountered any interception from the Immortal Realm. They hadn’t even caught a glimpse of a Dao Ancestor realm cultivator’s shadow.

So many ascension passages had been severed in succession, yet the Immortal Realm’s world consciousness seemed utterly unaware, turning a blind eye and making no response whatsoever.

In the “Immortal Realm Subjugation” group chat, the most discussed topic was when exactly the Immortal Realm would send Dao Ancestor realm cultivators.

【Cecilia: Araki World, done! But seriously… has the Immortal Realm really not reacted at all? This is my third cultivation world already, and I haven’t even seen a shadow of anyone from the Immortal Realm. This is way too abnormal!】

【Eliana: It is indeed suspicious. By all reason, with ascension passages being severed on this scale, the Immortal Realm’s consciousness couldn’t possibly be unaware. The complete lack of any response is actually more unsettling.】

【Meridis: Maybe they know we have numbers and got scared! I was actually looking forward to seeing just how strong a Ninth Rank Dao Ancestor really is!】

    【Traci: Perhaps they’re waiting.】

【Anita: Waiting for what? For us to convert every single cultivation world into a magic world?】

【Vasida: Could something major have happened inside the Immortal Realm? Too preoccupied to deal with us?】

【Traci: That’s unlikely. After finishing the rescue of all the cultivation worlds along this ascension passage, I went to scout near the Immortal Realm. Though its boundary membrane is strengthening at a slower rate, its overall integrity hasn’t shown any significant decline.】

【Carmela: Who cares! If the Dao Ancestors aren’t coming, we might as well pick up the pace, rescue more cultivation worlds, and stockpile Mana. When the Dao Ancestor cultivators actually do show up, we’ll have ample Mana reserves to handle them.】

【Pushila: Exactly! I originally thought we’d need to borrow some disposable Mana to buy {Magic Cards} just to stand a chance against a Dao Ancestor. But after rescuing several worlds, the Card Magic revenue shares we’ve earned are already enough to fight one!】

【Moira: Everyone, the smoother things go, the more vigilant we must be. Please make sure to maintain a certain level of Mana reserves and stay prepared to respond to any unexpected situations at all times.】

    ……

This wait lasted nearly a hundred years. Every single cultivation world’s ascension passage had been severed, and still the Immortal Realm remained unmoved.

【Vasida: All the cultivation worlds connected to the Immortal Realm’s ascension passages have been converted to magic worlds now. Can we move on to the Spirit Realms next?】

【Moira: I’ve spent these years scouting near most of the Spirit Realms. The Divination Magic results all look unfavorable. Now may not be a good time to act.】

【Traci: The Spirit Realms have been too deeply influenced by the Immortal Realm’s world consciousness. Their boundary membranes have taken on the Immortal Realm’s aura, and their native world consciousnesses have been almost entirely assimilated by the Immortal Realm’s world consciousness, reduced to little more than puppets.】

【Anita: How is that possible?! World consciousnesses can be assimilated too?】

【Traci: The key lies in the ‘intelligent beings.’ Cultivators who ascend from cultivation worlds to Spirit Realms already bear the Immortal Realm’s brand. The most talented among them eventually ascend to the Immortal Realm, contributing the source power they accumulated and refined in the cultivation worlds and Spirit Realms to the Immortal Realm. Those of lesser aptitude remain in the Spirit Realms to propagate, and their descendants likewise carry the Immortal Realm’s brand. Generation after generation, the Spirit Realm’s world consciousness inevitably becomes infiltrated by the Immortal Realm’s world consciousness. With these cultivators present, even if we sever the physical ascension passages, the Spirit Realm’s world consciousness will never side with us. It would act as a second Immortal Realm world consciousness, treating us as invaders and mobilizing the entire world’s power against us.】

This explanation plunged the group chat into a brief silence. It meant that the “sever the passage, negotiate cooperation” model that had been invincible in the lower cultivation worlds was completely unviable in the Spirit Realms.

【Carmela: Is there really no other way? There aren’t as many Spirit Realms as cultivation worlds, but they’re higher-level worlds with far more spellcasters. If we could take them, the returns would be no less than what we got from the cultivation worlds!】
