Chapter 970 – Course Topic Selection

Celestian solemnly bowed to Mo Lan:

“On behalf of all members of the association, I extend our deepest gratitude! As for your rest quarters, I’ll arrange the finest room immediately — you may furnish it however you like!”

Mo Lan nodded and walked to the other side of the Resonance Device, taking the position designated for the sharer. “No time to waste — let’s begin!”

The Elves stepped forward one by one, entering the beam range of the Resonance Device’s receiving end, accepting the nature Elf heritage she shared.

As the sharer, the process was indeed very comfortable — she didn’t need to worry about a thing.

All she had to do was lower her defenses around the nature Elf heritage memories, and the Resonance Device would automatically channel the contents into the energy flow, delivering them into the receiver’s mental sea on the other side.

Mo Lan could even maintain the sharing state while simultaneously studying the heritage memories she had just acquired.

But things ended far more quickly than she had imagined.

Tobias was the first to step forward, and Mo Lan had barely gotten accustomed to being a sharer when he couldn’t hold on any longer.

The Resonance Device disconnected immediately. The entire process took less than a minute — he hadn’t even finished receiving the historical portion of the nature Elf heritage.

The other mid-rank Elves received roughly the same amount of heritage as Tobias.

The three Advanced Elves held on a bit longer, basically finishing the historical portion of the heritage. Celestian even managed to receive part of the nature Elf cultural customs heritage.

Ten Elves, done in under ten minutes. The energy stones that had just been placed still brimmed with power.

The mid-rank Elves, including Tobias, stepped down from the Resonance Device’s receiving end with pale faces. Most of them lightly pressed their foreheads or temples, their gazes unfocused as they drifted toward their rest quarters.

Alfred and Viola also looked somewhat fatigued after receiving the heritage, and rested where they stood.

Celestian was in slightly better shape. He rubbed the space between his brows and, enduring the headache, insisted on personally escorting Mo Lan to the rest quarters arranged for her.

“This way. Your room is on the top floor of the tower — good view, and quiet too.”

Celestian introduced things as they walked. When they reached the door of the rest quarters, he produced an emblem and handed it to her. “This is your personal emblem. I’ve already registered your identity information in it. You can use it to open the Place of Convergence and your rest quarters.”

Mo Lan took the emblem and pressed it against the wooden door. Sure enough, it opened.

The room was more spacious and comfortable than she had expected.

A workroom reinforced with specialized magical materials, a separate reception room, a bedroom, a washroom, and even a small balcony.

“I’m very pleased — thank you!” Mo Lan said with genuine gratitude.

“It’s what you deserve.” Celestian waved his hand dismissively. “Well then, I won’t intrude any further. Get some good rest. If you need anything, contact me through your wristband. You just need to finalize your course topics within this month.”

After seeing Celestian off, Mo Lan materialized her Spatial Tent Card and placed it in the center of the room.

Then she stepped inside eagerly, using the Spatial Tent as cover to enter her mirror space.

She adjusted the time flow rate within the mirror space to maximum and began rapidly digesting the heritage memories stored in her mental sea.

Understanding and mastering the knowledge contained in the heritage memories was far more troublesome than simply receiving the heritage. Even with the adjusted time flow, it would be difficult to fully comprehend everything in a short time.

Mo Lan kept her promise, spending time every day at a fixed hour sitting in the atrium hall on the first floor.

Just like the Elves of other branches, she personally arranged a nature-themed resting corner beside the atrium fountain, using supple vines, fresh moss, fragrant wood, and several smooth stream stones — all in the style of the nature Elves.

She also replanted the flower beds beside the fountain with magical plants that were both ornamental and practically useful.

After learning several auxiliary meditation magic circles from the Astral Elf heritage, Mo Lan finally settled on her course topics.

When Celestian received the course proposal Mo Lan had sent, he was still in a daze.

He had assumed Mo Lan would need at least a few months to finalize her course topics. He never expected that after only two days — while he still hadn’t finished digesting his own heritage memories — Mo Lan had already determined her course topics. And not just one.

He rubbed the space between his brows and read through Mo Lan’s course proposal.

The report clearly listed four proposed elective courses: 《Druid Vocational Cultivation and Magical Practice (Intermediate)》, 《Ranger Vocational Cultivation and Magical Practice (Intermediate)》, 《Bard Vocational Cultivation and Magical Practice (Intermediate)》, and 《Natural Perception and Resonance》.

Celestian understood the first three courses at a glance.

They were closely related to Mo Lan’s own Advanced vocations. The content was substantial, the direction clear, and they perfectly filled the Academy’s gap in intermediate-level guidance for nature-aligned vocations.

He could even foresee the sensation these courses would cause among students aspiring to the path of nature once they were announced.

But the fourth course… 《Natural Perception and Resonance》?

Celestian furrowed his brows. In his understanding, “natural perception” was typically introductory meditation content for supernatural nature-aligned vocations, designed to help beginners initially sense natural energy and establish a faint connection with nature.

Such foundational content seemed far too elementary for the advanced division, which catered to intermediate-level students pursuing higher breakthroughs.

And “natural resonance” — while he was aware of it — was generally considered an elusive deep meditation state that one might stumble upon by chance. How could it be taught as a formal course?

Celestian brought his questions to the Place of Convergence, where Mo Lan happened to be tending to the plants in the atrium flower beds.

“Moira, I have some questions about your course proposal!”

    The two sat down.

“The first three courses are excellent — exactly what the Academy needs, and right in your area of expertise.” Celestian got straight to the point. “But the fourth one, 《Natural Perception and Resonance》… Isn’t ‘natural perception’ too basic for an intermediate course? And while ‘natural resonance’ is certainly valuable… forgive my bluntness, but it’s typically an incidental byproduct of deep meditation. How would you teach it systematically?”

Mo Lan had anticipated this and explained: “The inspiration for this course comes from the exquisite auxiliary meditation magic circles in the Astral Elf heritage — particularly the Third Composite Auxiliary Meditation Magic Circle.”

    Celestian’s gaze sharpened.

Of course he knew about the Third Composite Auxiliary Meditation Magic Circle. It was developed by Astral Elf mages as an advanced teaching tool designed to help large batches of beginners or low-rank mages stably enter a meditative state and improve early-stage meditation efficiency. It was typically set up in large public meditation halls or introductory classes.

Mo Lan continued: “My Natural Affinity is extremely high — natural resonance is the norm for me during daily meditation. By using a modified and enhanced Third Composite Auxiliary Meditation Magic Circle as the core teaching tool, with me as the lead, I can guide students into deep meditation — and even into a state of natural resonance…”
