Chapter 992 – An Unexpected Gift
by spirapiraAfter finishing the protective Magic for the High Elf Library, Mo Lan returned to the Place of Convergence and shared the good news with all the Elves.
“The library is already built, that quickly?”
Celestian, Alfred, and Viola—the three high-ranking Elves—exchanged glances, then eagerly summoned a portal to Suramalan and stepped through.
They had all been to Suramalan before. Celestian had even attempted the bloodline atavism ritual, though without success.
The moment they entered, their eyes fell on the towering structure not far away.
“This is the High Elf Library?” Celestian could confirm that this building hadn’t been there before.
Mo Lan nodded. “Everything from the high Elf heritage memories can be found in this library. Also, these are specifically for you.”
She produced three storage rings—one inlaid with a Purple Gemstone for Celestian, one set with gold essence stone for Alfred, and one embedded with Obsidian for Viola.
“Inside each ring are high Elf magic books aligned with your respective branches’ specializations. Consider it my thanks for introducing me to the quasi-divine level powerhouses of your clans!”
The books inside the rings were prepared for the families or branches behind each of them.
The three of them had mastered the forces of nature, radiant force, power of the stars, and power of shadow, allowing them to summon portals to Suramalan and enter freely. But the other Elves in their clans could not.
To prevent loss, the books in the High Elf Library could only be transcribed, never borrowed. If they had to copy them out one by one on their own, who knew how long that would take.
Mo Lan herself could directly produce copies using the Book of Cards. While it would cost some disposable Mana, compared to all the help they’d given her over the years, it was nothing.
“I’ve carved the library’s rules onto the stone tablet in front of the entrance. They’re easy to understand. Until we meet again!” Mo Lan’s tone carried a hint of farewell.
“You’re going to the Divine Realm?” Celestian had long been mentally prepared for this.
“Yes. After one trip back to the tribe, I’ll be leaving.” In truth, Mo Lan was leaving the Seran world entirely—there was no more magical knowledge here worth staying for.
She couldn’t tell them that she had come from another world. She could only say she was going to the “Divine Realm.”
For the people of the Seran world, going to the “Divine Realm” was essentially the same as going to another world.
“It’s been over two hundred years since you went back, hasn’t it? When the nature Elves of the Emerald Green Tribe learn of your achievements, they’ll be absolutely astonished!” Alfred said with a smile.
An Elf not yet three hundred years old, on the verge of becoming a god—even among the high Elves of old, with their powerful bloodlines, that was exceedingly rare.
Thinking of her friends back in the tribe, Mo Lan couldn’t help but let an expression of anticipation show on her face.
“Go without worry! See you in the Divine Realm!” Viola firmly believed that she too would reach the Divine Realm one day.
“See you in the ‘Divine Realm’!” Mo Lan gave a slight bow, then turned and left Suramalan.
After returning to the main world, Mo Lan was just about to teleport away when a voice suddenly rang in her ear.
“A gift for you~” The moment the words fell, a beautiful violet crystal card materialized out of thin air before her.
Mo Lan caught the card, and information about it flowed naturally into her mind.
It was actually a world invitation token for the Seran world!
With this world invitation token, she could return to the Seran world at any time through the Well of the Sky. Additionally, every five hundred years, she could claim one Permanent Realm-friend Invitation from it.
The world invitation token could only be used by her personally, while the Permanent Realm-friend Invitation could be shared with people she trusted.
It was nearly on par with the ones held by the Dragon and Elf races!
That voice just now must have been the world consciousness of the Seran world.
Mo Lan hurriedly used Star Language to contact the Seran world’s world consciousness, asking why it had given her this.
She had never heard of an Explorer who arrived in another world via a Realm-friend invitation receiving an additional gift from the world consciousness.
“Thank you for bringing the heritage of the high Elves back into the world… I can feel it—more children will use this knowledge to reach the Divine Realm and fight for the world! You are welcome to visit Thelan whenever you like!”
Only then did Mo Lan understand—it was her generosity with knowledge that had earned her this world invitation token.
It so happened that she couldn’t quite bear to part with the clanspeople and friends she’d made in the Seran world.
After thanking the world consciousness, she carefully put the world invitation token away. Unable to resist, she took out her Communication Card and shared the good news with Sylph.
【Sylph: !!! A world invitation token? Moira, you’re amazing!】
【Sylph: Does the Permanent Realm-friend Invitation it produces have any racial restrictions?】
【Mo Lan: No. From now on, when Witches come to the Seran world to travel, they can get identities better suited to themselves.】
【Sylph: That’s wonderful! Being a Dragon is honestly pretty hard to get used to sometimes.】
…
While the two were chatting, a new message suddenly appeared in the Sorceress’s Home group chat.
【Lilith: Are you there? Vasida? What identity did you get? Why have I turned into a little red Dragon?】
【Mo Lan: You turned into a Dragon too?】
【Lilith: Too?】
【Sylph: I also turned into a Dragon, a green Dragon though. I just ‘graduated’ from Hatchling Dragon Paradise a few years ago.】
【Lilith: How did this happen? Aren’t Realm-friend invitations supposed to match us with the most suitable identity?】
【Mo Lan: The one you used was a Realm-friend invitation given by the Dragons, right? We suspect their Realm-friend invitations have racial restrictions.】
【Lilith: That’s exactly what it was! Oh, by the way—Senior Traci and Vasida came with me. They both used Realm-friend invitations from the Elf race!】
【Mo Lan: Then they’ve definitely turned into Elves. They might still be inside their life cocoons and haven’t emerged yet! Even if they have, they can’t use Communication Cards to reach us. Underage Elves all live within their respective clan territories, and the Mother Trees have strong control over those territories—bringing out anything that doesn’t belong to this world risks exposure.】
【Sylph: Elves don’t reach adulthood and leave their clan territory until they’re a hundred years old. We might have to wait a while before we can contact them.】
【Mo Lan: They both used nature Elf invitations, so they might appear in the tribe where I am. I’m about to head back right now—wait for my update!】
…
After finishing her conversation with them, Mo Lan teleported to the outskirts of the Emerald Forest, then used Magic to travel swiftly through the woods.
The wind swept past the tips of her hair, and branches and leaves silently parted to clear her path.
Knowing she could come back anytime now, her mood felt much lighter.
She hadn’t even reached the tribe yet when, beneath an ancient tree that had been struck by lightning yet stubbornly continued to grow, she spotted a familiar figure.
“Polly!” Mo Lan cried out in delighted recognition of her childhood friend.
Polly had been cultivating here when the sudden voice startled her.
Mo Lan’s appearance had changed significantly, but Polly still recognized her. “Is that… Moira? What happened to you—why do you look like this? Did you disguise your appearance for safety?”
