The effects of integrating the 【Learning Space】 into the teaching system far exceeded everyone’s expectations.
From wide-eyed first-year newcomers to fifth-year seniors on the verge of graduation, every young Witch benefited enormously.
Magic techniques that once required repeated practice to master could now be attempted an unlimited number of times in virtual space. Practical courses that were previously constrained by materials and venues could now be simulated anytime, anywhere.
Learning progress shot upward as if accelerated by Magic.
Teaching tasks that had once packed the schedule to the brim were all completed ahead of time. Some grades even finished a full half-year early.
In the Headmistress’s Lounge, Mo Lan held her teacup and leisurely flipped through the teaching progress reports for each grade, a knowing smile playing at the corners of her lips.
She had anticipated this.
However, she didn’t add more required courses because of it. The foundational mandatory curriculum was already quite comprehensive. The remaining courses were all advanced electives that required more nuanced consideration and weren’t suited to a one-size-fits-all approach.
She uploaded a batch of elective video courses and one-on-one tutoring sessions to the 【Learning Space】, leaving the young Witches who had “energy to spare” to choose for themselves.
All current students were Second-Generation Sorceresses born from the Witch Tree, with Unlimited All-Element Magic aptitude. This meant that no matter which school of Magic caught their interest, they had the potential to delve deeply into it.
The highly efficient learning model brought by the 【Learning Space】 allowed them to master their required courses quickly, suddenly freeing up a great deal of spare time.
This time was flexibly invested in elective courses, self-study, or the various challenges within the 【Exam System】.
Speaking of the 【Exam System】— it had been the most popular “new toy” among the young Witches over the past year.
Every course offered, every book in the library, had corresponding stage assessments and comprehensive evaluation exams within the system.
From the simplest introductory tests to ultimate challenges that could make a person question their entire existence, the levels progressed step by step, covering everything imaginable.
Young Witches who achieved outstanding exam results not only received a certain number of Gem Coins as rewards but also had the chance to make it onto the coveted “Top Hundred Rankings.”
Those who made the list walked with their heads held high; those who didn’t quietly redoubled their efforts.
Before long, enthusiasm for learning had been thoroughly ignited.
A year passed in a flash amid the busy yet fulfilling rhythm.
After the academic year ended, Mo Lan, Vasida, Lilith, and Sylph gathered together, poring over the assessment reports for each grade. Gratified smiles appeared on all their faces in unison.
The first-year young Witches had completed introductory-level work in every area— theoretical knowledge, practical Magic, and more.
They could independently handle basic life needs such as eating, dressing, and traveling. They had developed a systematic understanding of the world, the races, and Magic. This was a level that only second-year students in previous cohorts had been able to reach.
The second-years’ progress was even more impressive.
Not only had they exceeded the full course requirements for their grade, but they had also gotten a head start on highly practical courses like 《Mainland Travel Guidance》 and 《Wilderness Survival Class》.
Each young Witch had chosen at least two to three schools of Magic to study in depth. By the end-of-term assessments, their overall abilities already surpassed those of third-year students from previous cohorts.
The third-year young Witches had begun exploring the Academy’s Inner Region in the second half of the year, preparing to move out of the Dormitory and into wilderness cabins.
They had also participated in several intelligence-oriented survival games ahead of schedule. Their performances were noteworthy, and their ability to handle complex situations far exceeded expectations.
As for the fourth and fifth years, they had fully entered a “free growth” mode.
Frequent survival game trials, supplemented by self-study and elective courses, had equipped them with the ability to independently handle all manner of emergencies and crises.
Whether encountering magical beasts in the wild or facing sudden incidents in other realms, they could analyze calmly and act decisively.
On graduation day, the fifth-year young Witches unhesitatingly invested the Gem Coins they had saved up over time into the 【Learning Space】 on their student cards.
“I’m going to keep using it even after I leave school!” A young Witch with a high ponytail waved the card in her hand. “This thing is just too useful— I can’t quit it.”
Once word spread, many Witches who had graduated years ago came flocking.
“What? Academy cards? 【Learning Space】? How come we didn’t have this back in our day!”
“We demand it be made available! Money is no object!”
……
Faced with the overwhelming wave of demand, Mo Lan quickly responded: Academy cards were now officially available for purchase by all graduated Witches.
They were alumni-edition Academy cards, of course— retaining only a subset of features and requiring payment to use.
Mo Lan funneled all the fees toward maintaining the day-to-day operation of the enrolled students’ student cards.
Less than two years later, when she reviewed the Academy card financial report, she let out a soft breath and pushed the report over to Sylph beside her.
“Revenue and expenses are balanced, with a surplus. Even better than expected.”
Sylph took it, scanned it briefly, and gave a slight nod. “The purchasing power of those graduates really is astonishing.”
“It’s a genuine necessity, after all.” Lilith leaned against the window, a note of emotion in her voice. “Once you’ve used the 【Learning Space】, who could ever go back to that inefficient way of practicing?”
Vasida rested her chin in her hand, gazing at the young Witches studying in the light screen.
“You really do have a way with things, Moira! Human mages are absolutely dying of envy over our Learning Space, but they have no way to replicate it whatsoever.”
Mo Lan raised her teacup, a faint smile surfacing at her lips. “I actually got the inspiration from web novels back on Earth…”
In the beginning, she had only wanted to use a format that people from Earth could accept to guide them onto the path of Magic and avert planetary annihilation. That was why she had created a mental space resembling a game world. She never expected it would work just as well when applied to the Witches.
On the light screen, the young Witches had finished their classes. They poured out of the classrooms, chattering as they streamed out of the castle.
Some discussed the lesson content as they walked. Others made plans to practice newly learned Magic together in the 【Learning Space】 that evening. Still others hurried toward the library with brisk steps.
The lounge fell quiet for a moment.
Sylph spoke softly. “Sometimes, when I think about it, our generation of Sorceresses is truly fortunate.”
“How so?” Lilith looked toward her.
“We grew up under the shelter of the Sorceresses who came before us, never really experiencing the hardships they endured. And we’ve witnessed the Witch race take yet another step forward.”
She paused, her gaze falling on the young silhouettes on the light screen. “And they— they will go even farther than we did.”
Mo Lan said nothing, only quietly watching each and every young Witch on the light screen.
Wisps of steam curled upward from her teacup.
Yes, they will go farther than we did.
And that is the shared wish of every generation of Witches.
