Chapter Index

After Su Xing left the training facility, a group of students on the other side quickly swarmed over, eager to see the numbers on the training machine.

“One… ten… hundred… thousand… ten thousand! Holy shit, that beast just hit a hundred and fifty thousand kilograms with a single punch?”

“That can’t be right, can it? A hundred and fifty thousand kilograms — that’s the kind of number only most Grandmaster-stage, strength-type Class Users can put out!”

“Maybe that guy was using a strength-amplification skill? That would explain a number like that.”

“Are you an idiot? That beast threw four consecutive punches, and the readings were 151,376 kg, 149,789 kg, 155,678 kg, and 157,689 kg. Outputs like that aren’t from skills — he probably just broke through and came to the facility to test his own strength!”

“Exactly. Besides, who uses skills against a training machine? That’d be completely pointless.”

“So what you’re saying is, our school’s fourth-years have produced another monster? A punching force of a hundred and fifty thousand kilograms — that’s close to a hundred and fifty tons! Surely only a Grandmaster-rank Class User could reach that level?”

The students chattered among themselves, nodding repeatedly, admiration flickering across their eyes.

“I’m so jealous! That senior’s strength probably puts him in the top ten among all the fourth-years. But someone that powerful… why have I never seen him before?”

“Quick, quick — get it posted to the school forum! This is going to cause a massive stir!”

By this point, Su Xing had already put considerable distance between himself and the training facility, completely unaware of the commotion unfolding behind him.

Out of caution, Su Xing first walked a few extra laps around the campus to confirm no one was tailing him before returning to the male dormitory. Then, in an unoccupied corner, he quietly slipped back into the Blessed Spirit Field.

He did not emerge until early the next morning, stepping out of the Blessed Spirit Field and back into the dormitory.

“That should be enough to ensure no one can discover my identity…”

The effects of the Disguise Pill had long since worn off. Su Xing lay on his bed in the dormitory, taking a sip of cola, his mind turning over and over.

“At Bone Forging Great Perfection, my strength had already reached over two hundred thousand jin… so why, at Organ Tempering Ninth Layer, has my strength only just barely broken past three hundred thousand jin?”

Su Xing was puzzled. The leap from Bone Forging Great Perfection to the Organ Refining Realm, Ninth Layer should have been a complete transformation in power — yet the actual gain to his raw strength had been surprisingly modest.

“Perhaps the true power of the Organ Tempering Realm lies elsewhere?”

Su Xing sat deep in thought, then entered the Blessed Spirit Field and began practicing martial arts.

Punch after kick, he pushed himself to his absolute limit. The crack of sonic booms split the air each time his fists broke the sound barrier. Had the space within the Blessed Spirit Field not been so stable, so saturated with spiritual energy, the sheer force of Su Xing’s training would surely have disturbed the heavens and earth.

Su Xing trained from evening all the way through to dawn before exhaustion finally claimed him. He sat down, took a long drink of Spirit Spring Water, and began to regulate his breathing and recover.

Seated cross-legged within the Blessed Spirit Field, the surrounding spiritual energy flowed steadily into Su Xing’s body, nourishing his flesh and restoring his vitality at a rapid pace.

“I see it now. The mystery of the Organ Tempering Realm lies not in strength — it lies in the internal refinement of the Body Tempering cultivator!”

“The first realm of Body Tempering is the Body Tempering Realm, also known as the Meridian Opening Realm. This stage exists to lay a solid foundation and plant the seeds for the entire Body Tempering path. Its primary purpose is to nourish the body, though it also grants a respectable boost to combat power and raw strength.”

“The second realm of Body Tempering is the Bone Forging Realm. This stage focuses primarily on strengthening the skeletal structure and the density of the physical body. Once that framework is hardened, strength surges naturally — which is precisely why my power climbed to three hundred thousand jin. Without question, this is the stage that contributes the greatest leap in combat capability during the early period!”

“The third realm of Body Tempering is the Organ Tempering Realm! What does it mean to temper one’s organs? It means cultivating and expanding the five viscera and six bowels — similar in concept to the internal energy cultivation methods found in wuxia novels, building and fortifying one’s inner power!”

Su Xing followed this line of reasoning further.

“Strengthening the heart enhances sustained combat endurance, keeping one’s strength flowing without interruption. Before, I might have been exhausted after an hour of fighting — but now I can fight continuously for three or four hours before fatigue begins to set in…”

“Strengthening the kidneys — the kidneys belong to water and govern the storage of essence and qi. For a Body Tempering cultivator, one’s vital essence and spirit are of paramount importance; they are the key to maintaining the body’s operation and balance.”

“Strengthening the liver — the liver is the organ of detoxification. Upon reaching the Organ Tempering Realm, one becomes immune to all mundane poisons. Even venomous snakes and centipedes pose no threat whatsoever; only toxins specifically formulated to affect cultivators can still have any effect.”

“Strengthening the lungs allows the body’s breath to flow ceaselessly, and one may even gain the ability to breathe and exchange air underwater.”

“Strengthening the spleen — the spleen is the organ responsible for producing blood. Body Tempering cultivators place the utmost importance on abundant qi and blood. Only when the spleen is powerful can the qi and blood throughout the body reach fullness, allowing one to advance steadily in strength!”

Su Xing drew a deep breath and murmured:

“Looked at this way, the Organ Tempering Realm is more like a transitional stage — a bridge between what came before and what comes after, a period of turning inward and consolidating oneself… Perhaps it is only after breaking into the fourth realm, the Primordial Martial Realm, that a truly monumental transformation in power will occur!”

A sharp gleam passed through Su Xing’s eyes. He had arrived at his own preliminary understanding of the Organ Tempering Realm.

Once his strength was fully restored, Su Xing showered, washing away the layer of stale sweat that coated him, and felt refreshed and at ease once more.

The moment he returned to the real world, Su Xing found a string of messages waiting for him from Jin Congxue.

“Hey big boss, are you there? Your lady has been run absolutely ragged these past few days… Your trading company is just about set up — do you want to come hear the plans for its future direction? Oh right, I also have this week’s equipment ready for you…”

“Not responding? Wow, must be nice living the carefree life of a hands-off boss, huh? Your lady here has been working herself to the bone to get your trading company off the ground, and you can’t even be bothered to come check on the members?”

Jin Congxue had sent several messages in succession — but since Su Xing had been inside the Blessed Spirit Field where there was no signal, none of them had reached him until now.

    So Su Xing hurriedly replied:

“My lady, I was wrong. Where are you right now? I’ll come find you immediately! (regret.jpg)”

    Jin Congxue replied instantly:

“I’m at the villa from the Jin Commerce Group. I bought it with the Tarot Society’s funds and turned it into our early headquarters.”

“Give me fifteen minutes, I’m on my way!”

Su Xing fired back the reply, then sprinted to the school gates and flagged down a car to the villa district where he had previously met Jin Congxue.

That day, Jin Congxue was wearing a light yellow floral sundress, her jet-black hair cascading loosely like a waterfall around her shoulders. Perhaps due to the Beauty-Preserving Pill she had been taking, her entire bearing was that of a girl of eighteen or nineteen — skin smooth and delicate, radiating youthful vitality.

Inside the villa, in addition to Jin Congxue, there were more than a dozen people who appeared highly professional.

The majority were white-haired elders, with a few younger women among them who seemed to be Jin Congxue’s close friends and personal secretaries.

When Jin Congxue spotted Su Xing, her eyes lit up and she immediately made introductions:

“Su Xing, you’re finally here… Let me introduce everyone. These are the founding elders of our Tarot Trading Company — Master Appraiser Elder Wang, Elder Rui, Elder Liu…”
