Chapter 1049 – Mo Lan’s Travel Diary 2
by spirapiraMo Lan looked at the poorly concealed desire in her friends’ eyes and said smugly:
“It’s not for sale! However, if you truly want one, I can custom-build a mobile castle with similar functions tailored to your needs. As for the price…”
She quietly quoted a figure that would make any Witch’s jaw drop.
“What?!” Lilith was the first to cry out. “This mobile castle costs even more than a fully functional large-scale mirror space?”
Mo Lan nodded and explained in a calm tone, “Although the ‘Traveler’ is just a mobile dwelling, it integrates multiple top-tier Magic technologies and contains a vast amount of expanded space. The base and power core utilize principles from the Quelariel floating city’s municipal magic circles. The main framework incorporates a large quantity of materials from Starlight Ancient Trees. The defensive layer uses the finest spatial defense materials, and the internal space-folding and ecological circulation systems are also quite complex. This price… honestly, I’ve already optimized and compressed it as much as I could.”
She paused, then added with a knowing smile, “To put it bluntly, this is just a ‘big toy’ I built to satisfy my own travel aspirations.”
She looked at her three friends, her eyes carrying an inquiring look. “So? Interested in having one custom-made?”
Lilith, Vasida, and Sylph exchanged glances, then shook their heads in perfect unison.
They appreciated the Traveler’s fantastical charm and romance, but as Advanced Sorceresses, they had far more efficient magical means of travel and many more cost-effective options.
For long distances, they used spatial teleportation; for short distances, broomsticks. When they wanted a comfortable place to rest, they could simply open a mirror space portal and return to their Witch’s home.
Spending such an enormous amount of disposable Mana to build a mobile castle like this was simply too extravagant.
However, for the young witches who had yet to witness more Advanced magical constructs, this castle with legs and wings was already enough to leave them dazzled and filled with boundless longing.
“Welcome aboard the Traveler!”
Mo Lan smiled at her friends and the little witches, making an elegant and solemn gesture of invitation. “It’s getting late. Let me first show everyone where you’ll be resting tonight.”
She took the lead, walking toward the log door that radiated a warm glow, and gently pushed it open.
Beyond the door was a spacious, bright foyer with a pleasantly high ceiling.
Soft Magical lamp light activated automatically, illuminating the wonderfully soft carpet underfoot.
A faint, reassuring scent of fresh greenery and wood drifted through the air.
“Wow!” The little ones filed in one after another, letting out hushed exclamations of wonder as they looked around curiously.
Mo Lan led everyone up a curved staircase lined with non-slip soft padding.
The handrails had been polished smooth and round. Every few steps, a small display niche was embedded in the wall—all of them empty for now, waiting to be filled with souvenirs from the journey ahead.
Upon reaching the Second Floor, the view opened up dramatically. At the end of the spacious, bright corridor stood a pair of heavy-looking wooden double doors, carved with an intertwining pattern of stars and vines.
Mo Lan walked up to the doors, smiled, and glanced back at the curious faces—both big and small—peering from behind her. Then she gently pushed the doors open.
The sight within made everyone pause for a moment before breaking into delighted smiles.
The interior space was far larger than it appeared from outside, with obvious signs of spatial expansion.
The most eye-catching feature was the enormous bed in the center of the room.
It occupied nearly a third of the room’s area. Its soft, fluffy green mattress looked like a sprawling, springy stretch of the Greengrass Plains—large enough for ten adults to roll around and play on without the slightest bit of crowding.
The bed canopy was made of delicate, pale blue gossamer that draped elegantly from the ceiling, adjustable to be drawn up or let down as needed.
Clusters of lifelike pale purple wisteria were exquisitely attached throughout the gossamer, emanating a refined, subtle fragrance.
On one side of the bed was a long row of equally spacious and comfortable connected sofas, enough for everyone to find their own cozy corner to curl up in.
In front of the sofas sat a wide log coffee table.
On the other side of the room was the entrance to an oversized washroom. Through the frosted glass door, one could see side-by-side vanities, a spacious shower area, and even a large bath pool steaming with misty warmth—big enough for everyone to soak in comfortably, or even swim in.
Beside the fireplace, a narrow but sturdy vine ladder spiraled up along the wall to a height where a transparent glass door and a small window sat.
The night breeze drifted in gently from there, softly billowing the sheer curtains that hung beside the door.
“Considering this is our first group outing and the Traveler’s maiden voyage,” Mo Lan turned around to explain, “I specially prepared this grand suite. This week, we can all stay here together!”
The Witch mothers exchanged knowing glances. Without a word, they moved in perfect accord, each carrying their daughter toward the steaming washroom.
The water in the bath was pleasantly warm, releasing the soothing, calming fragrance of tranquility herbs.
After a lively and heartwarming group bath, the little ones were all changed into soft, comfortable pajamas. Their little faces were rosy pink, radiating the freshness and warmth that comes after a good soak.
Once out of the bath, Tessa—who had been holding herself back for ages—finally broke free from her mother’s hand. With a cheer, she shot toward the enormous bed like an energetic little cannonball, executed a textbook flying leap into it, and happily rolled around several times in a row, letting out peals of giggly laughter.
Sylph gently placed the already drowsy Evelyn, who had begun softly snoring, near the edge of the bed, and tucked her in with a blanket.
After Dorella was set down on the bed by her mother, she was immediately drawn to the wisteria cascading from the canopy. She gave a little sniff with her small nose. “Are those real flowers on the canopy? They smell so nice… Lying here, it really feels like lying under the wisteria tree at the lakeside cottage!”
“They’re ‘everlasting flowers that never wilt,’ specially made from the blossoms of the wisteria tree in the lakeside cottage’s garden,” Mo Lan explained softly. “Not only are they beautiful and fragrant, they also have wonderful calming and sleep-inducing effects.”
“Wow…” Dorella comfortably narrowed her emerald green eyes, her long lashes fluttering a few times before she sank into dreamland the very next moment, a sweet little smile still lingering at the corners of her lips.
Sylvia also felt her eyelids growing heavier and heavier, but she still fought to stay awake, rubbing her eyes and mumbling drowsily, “Mama… my… Slumber Demon Flower…”
