Chapter Index

From that day on, Mo Lan began thinking about how to combine her current magical abilities to create useful cards, in addition to studying magic from books.

It was hard to come up with good ideas out of thin air, so Mo Lan analyzed the witch magic system for inspiration.

Witch Magic had already developed to its golden age, with each branch of magic being quite rich. Whether for daily life or survival, magic could serve witches well in all regards.

In Mo Lan’s mind, cards created through magical abilities should at least match magic itself in terms of functionality and practicality.

Better yet, they should go a step further and accomplish things that no single magic could achieve on its own — that way, the creative power of cards wouldn’t be wasted.

Witches developed magic based on their needs, and she could develop cards based on needs too.

Life’s basic needs were nothing more than clothing, food, shelter, and transportation. Witches mostly relied on various specialized magics to meet these: Culinary Magic, Sewing Magic, planting magic, butchering magic, and flight magic were all among them.

Only in the area of shelter did elemental magic play a larger role, but even those couldn’t be combined with one another.

The various specialized magics derived from Magic Infusion were actually difficult to utilize for card-making.

This was because Magic Infusion was a very unique ability. The attuning process also included a bonding function, which meant that each witch’s attuned objects were deeply personal products that couldn’t be used by others.

Likewise, if she were to use them for card-making, Mo Lan couldn’t combine her own Magic Infusion abilities to create cards that everyone could use.

Creation also required knowledge. She could learn a great deal of knowledge, but she couldn’t learn the innate, one-of-a-kind gifts that belonged to others.

    So she couldn’t make a {Broomstick Card}, nor could she make a {Magical Cooking Card}.

For these categories of magic, she could only take the end result as her goal and see if other magical abilities could serve the same purpose.

Starting with “food” — in her card library, there were actually quite a few cards that satisfied dietary needs.

Various Food Cards, ingredient cards, seasoning cards, and the Mobile Kitchen Card.

The only downside was that there were too many cards in the Earth style and too few in the Valen style.

She could slowly search for samples to enrich her card library collection when she traveled the continent after graduation.

To go even further and enrich the cards related to “food” needs, Mo Lan figured that probably only Alchemy Magic could still be of some help.

But there wasn’t much necessity either. The products of witch Alchemy Magic were already quite good, with all sorts of magical items that made life convenient. Mo Lan herself had already made some Earth-style machine cards before, which were more than enough.

Spatial Magic actually had the greatest potential, with major applications in all areas. However, the Spatial Magic gem she currently had was still being enhanced with Spatial magic, so now wasn’t the time to use it. She set that aside for the moment.

With that, it seemed like there was no better card-making inspiration to be found. Just as Mo Lan was about to give up on “food” cards and move on to other areas, a flash of insight struck her.

That’s right — there was still the creative power of cards themselves!

Creation itself was a very special ability!

Inspiration flooded Mo Lan all at once. She wrote furiously, and the moment she finished, she immediately began designing cards and attempting to craft them.

Vasida was sitting by the river, pouring water into the Devouring Stomach with one hand while scrolling through food card images in the card shop to stave off hunger with the other. As she scrolled, she suddenly noticed new cards popping up in the food card category.

“{Perpetual Kettle Card}? What kind of card is this?”

Vasida curiously tapped on the card description: “A kettle that automatically refills after being emptied, needing only a little bit of time or Gem Coins?” Before she could even be surprised, she saw more cards beginning with “Perpetual” popping up at the bottom of the page.

The more she looked, the more she drooled.

    A {Perpetual Rice Bin} of rice that automatically refilled, a {Perpetual Rice Bowl} that could be refilled after finishing a bowl, and even a {Perpetual Seasoning Box}, {Perpetual Noodle Bowl}, {Perpetual Hot Pot}, {Perpetual Vegetable Basket}, {Perpetual Snack Cabinet}…

Finally, her gaze locked onto one particular card. Saliva flooded her mouth uncontrollably, her eyes glowing.

    {Perpetual Manchurian-Han Imperial Feast Round Table}

【Function: A grand round table laden with all one hundred and eight dishes of the Manchurian-Han Imperial Feast. It only requires time or Gem Coins to fully replenish itself…】

(This card is temporarily unavailable to underage young witches)

Seeing that large notice at the end, Vasida clutched her chest: “Headmistress! Don’t you think that’s going too far!”

The usage cost of these cards was practically negligible compared to buying ready-made Food Cards from the card shop!

No. 70 Amisha remained unfazed, even letting out a soft chuckle.

She had seen this kind of scene far too many times. Nothing surprised her anymore.

New cards were still being quietly added. Vasida took a deep breath and continued scrolling.

After the Perpetual series finished updating, a blind box series appeared.

This series was much cheaper than the Perpetual series.

A {snack blind box} that yielded different snacks every day when opened, an {Earth Cuisine Blind Box} that yielded different dishes every day when opened, an {Earth Fine Liquor Blind Box} that yielded different beverages every day when opened…

Although she wanted all of them, none could compare to the {Perpetual Manchurian-Han Imperial Feast Round Table} that could be endlessly refilled just by charging it with Mana.

Just as she was about to go back and look at that card again, another card suddenly appeared.

{Earth Menu Card}? Three ordinary dishes could be ordered for free each day, and additional dishes could be ordered by paying Gem Coins?

The prices of dishes on the menu were even cheaper than refilling the {Perpetual Manchurian-Han Imperial Feast Card}. Refilling the {Perpetual Manchurian-Han Imperial Feast} cost thirty percent less than purchasing the equivalent {Manchurian-Han Imperial Feast Card} outright.

But ordering the Manchurian-Han Imperial Feast through this {Earth Menu Card} was a full fifty percent cheaper than buying a {Manchurian-Han Imperial Feast Card} directly!

And you could order three dishes for free every day!

Plus, there was no need to use an {Energy Storage Card} to convert Gem Coins into Mana, making the cost even lower.

Of course, the card itself was not cheap at all.

The worry she’d always had about how to eat after graduation — upon seeing this card, it was practically solved.

Her Devouring Stomach could convert food energy into Mana, and Mana could be exchanged one-to-one for Gem Coins. This card could then spend Mana to eat the Manchurian-Han Imperial Feast. If the conversion rates on both sides were roughly equivalent, wouldn’t she never have to worry about going hungry again?

Vasida did some careful calculations. With her current appetite and her daily Gem Coin income from selling cards, using this {Earth Menu Card} to order egg fried rice would basically ensure she broke even.

The Devouring Stomach could eat its fill of egg fried rice every single meal!

And if her cards and magic sold better, feeding the Devouring Stomach the Manchurian-Han Imperial Feast every day wouldn’t even be a dream!

She didn’t even dare imagine what it would feel like for the Devouring Stomach to eat the Manchurian-Han Imperial Feast every meal until it was actually full.

Vasida held up the card shop screen showing this card to the Devouring Stomach: “Hang in there a little longer. Once I graduate, I’ll use this to feed you until you’re full!”

    The Devouring Stomach: “Gurgle~ gurgle~ gurgle~”

    Note
