Chapter Index

The young witches immediately understood how to use this outline method.

Mo Lan gave them a few more practice questions to solidify their understanding, then let them try creating outlines for each book on their own.

Only after they finished an outline for one book would Mo Lan look it over and offer some suggestions.

The young witches would spend hours flipping through books to produce their outlines, yet Mo Lan could identify the problems the moment she finished reading them.

Every book she had ever read was stored in her mind, committed thoroughly to memory.

With her help, the young witches organized their reference reading lists much faster, and their outlining skills grew increasingly proficient.

Even so, because they had wasted an entire day earlier, they were still pressed for time.

When evening came, on that enormous bed, Mo Lan was the only one who went to sleep on schedule.

Whenever she happened to wake in the middle of the night, she could see young witches reading by lamplight, or using dark vision to read in the dark.

Every time this happened, Mo Lan slept with great peace of mind.

When she woke up and saw the young witches still fighting hard for their exams, Mo Lan felt she ought to do something too.

Using the excuse of stepping out for some fresh air, she left the lounge and stood at an empty corridor corner, calling out to Madam Amisha: “Headmistress, Headmistress, please open a portal for me — I need to speak with you!”

A black portal opened before her. Mo Lan stepped through, and in the blink of an eye, she arrived at the Underground Headmistress’s Lounge.

“What is it?” Guardian Headmistress No. 69 asked her.

“Regarding the graduation exam — no, regarding all witch examinations — I have a new idea,” Mo Lan said.

“What idea?” Quite a few Headmistress clones turned to look at her.

“I think that once witches graduate and fully transition into self-study mode, it’s easy for their motivation to wane, and it’s hard to guarantee the effectiveness of their learning.

To help everyone carry the study enthusiasm and habits they developed at the Academy into their daily lives after graduation, I’ve come up with a set of practice quiz cards. They’d be sold to witches at a low price, with rewards built in, to help everyone self-assess, correct mistakes, boost motivation, and test their learning outcomes.

The scores from the practice quiz cards could also serve as proof of a witch’s knowledge,” Mo Lan said.

She had long felt that many adult witches were in a worrying state when it came to studying.

Take Mama Shana, for instance — during those thirteen years in the little cabin at Emerald Creek Plains, Mo Lan had rarely seen her reading or practicing Magic.

At least now, with the Status Card displaying Magic level progress, there was some element of peer pressure and comparison to spur people on.

But theoretical knowledge was no less important than Magic, and something had to be done to make everyone take it seriously too.

    The Headmistress clones fell silent.

Amisha’s main body was so startled by her proposal that she teleported to the room in person. “Tell me more — how would this practice quiz card work exactly?”

“Take the young witches’ graduation exam, for example. I know the Headmistress rewards practice workbooks in the hope that young witches will fill in their knowledge gaps and master what they didn’t grasp during the exam before venturing out of the Wilds, which would improve their survival rates.

But the workbooks contain a limited number of questions, and it’s hard for them to cover every knowledge point.

And mastering something now doesn’t mean you’ll remember it forever — there’s always the possibility of forgetting.

My practice quiz card would essentially be a question bank containing all possible questions.

Each time a witch takes a quiz, the card automatically selects a portion of questions from the bank to form a test paper, and after completing it, she can immediately see her score.

Then I’ll take all the profits from the practice quiz cards and use them as rewards for top performers.

By setting up milestone rewards, we can encourage everyone to study more and reinforce their theoretical knowledge.

There could be a graduation exam practice quiz card, a practice quiz card for a specific classic text, or a practice quiz card for a particular school of Magic. That way, when someone presents their practice quiz card score report, everyone can see what their knowledge level is like — it doubles as a competency assessment tool.

Plus, a card is much easier to carry around than a big thick workbook, so you can pull it out and practice anytime.

Of course, all this requires my own knowledge level to be up to par, or for you, Headmistress, to help provide the question banks.

For now, the graduation exam practice quiz card is the only one I’m confident I can handle.”

Mo Lan laid out the thoughts in her mind:

“Actually, it would be even better if the cards had communication capabilities — we could set up leaderboards to motivate everyone to study harder.”

For theoretical knowledge, practice quizzes were an excellent way to reinforce learning — even better than rote memorization.

Amisha sighed with admiration upon hearing this. “What a wonderful idea. Is there still time to create the practice quiz card before this graduation exam? I can provide exam questions from previous years.”

“Absolutely!” Mo Lan had memorized the entire reference reading list by heart, and her mind was further bolstered by the accumulated experience of generations of Earth’s exam designers. Combined with Madam Amisha’s approach to crafting questions better suited to witch-specific contexts, creating a graduation exam practice quiz card was child’s play.

Madam Amisha quickly gathered all the graduation exam materials and practice workbooks from previous years.

She even included this year’s exam.

Looking at that exam paper, which resembled a massive tome, Mo Lan was deeply convinced that her practice quiz card idea was brilliant.

At the very least, the young witches wouldn’t have to lug around a giant book just to do practice problems.

A single card looked far more portable than a hefty volume.

Of course, the number and types of questions remained the same.

After reviewing everything one by one, Mo Lan immediately began crafting the card.

Before long, a {Practice Quiz Card -Mo Lan’s《Witch Academy Graduation Exam》} appeared in her hands.

“This card binds to its user — no one else can take the quizzes on their behalf,” Mo Lan said. “Headmistress, would you like to try it?”

Amisha picked up the card and bound it to herself. After selecting the quiz option, a light screen visible only to her rose up before her eyes.

On it was a full set of Witch Academy graduation exam questions.

She flipped through page by page until she reached the end.

Having designed exams for so many years, she could tell at a glance that this test paper not only matched the question types and scope of her own exams, but didn’t contain a single question identical to any she had provided.

It was an entirely new exam.

She tapped the option to retake the quiz, and another brand-new set of questions appeared.

The speed and quality of question generation alone were enough to convince Amisha that this card would work perfectly for the young witches’ graduation exam.

She then tried out the auto-grading feature, the error log, error explanations, and reference book recommendations.

Without a moment’s hesitation, she declared: “List it in the Card Shop! The Academy will fund the purchase of twenty-seven cards for this year’s graduating class of young witches.”

    Mo Lan smiled happily.

Before long, a {Practice Quiz Card -Mo Lan’s《Witch Academy Graduation Exam》} quietly appeared in the Card Shop, with a temporary restriction preventing non-graduating young witches from purchasing it.

Unlike other cards, Mo Lan planned to sell this type of card at three times the production cost.

Of the two-times profit margin, Mo Lan allocated all of it to the card’s built-in quiz rewards, distributed in the form of Gem Coins and Gem Coin Cards to young witches who studied diligently.

It was her small way of encouraging all the witches.
