    Chapter 371 – Limited-Time Card Pool

The moment midnight passed, the young witches poured every last Gem Coin and Gem Coin Card they had saved up over the year into the card pool.

    “{Food Card}, {Food Card}, {Gem Coin Card}, {Seasoning Card}… {Material Card}! Oh my god, it’s a material card for water magic gemstones!”

    “Hahaha! I drew a {Perpetual Seasoning Box}! It’s perfect for me!”

“Am I seeing this right?! Is this a {Spatial Ring Card}?!”

“The luck spell worked! I drew a skill card! {Invisible Magic Arrow}!”

    “I drew one too! But mine’s a {Triple Magic Armor Card}!”

“{Little Electric Scooter Card}? What kind of card is this?”

“Hehe, I drew a {Meal Order Card} with 99 uses — I can order so much delicious food!”

“I drew a {Gem Coin Cap Card}! It raises the storage limit for Gem Coins!”

    ……

The graduation limited-time card pool was a pure bonus pool through and through. Every soon-to-graduate young witch drew cards far exceeding the value of what she had put in.

For a time, the entire lounge was filled with cheers and laughter.

Mo Lan went from being the universally dreaded Sorceress of exams and Practice Quiz Cards to the Card Sorceress who blessed every young witch with incredible luck.

Some would rub her for good luck before drawing cards, while others came to thank her after pulling something great.

The limited-time card pool and card shop discount were originally meant to be open for a full twenty-four hours on Independence Day, but barely an hour had passed before the young witches had burned through every last bit of their savings — and even spent some of their own magical power on top of it.

If not for the fact that they would be leaving the Academy after the graduation ceremony, they would have spent every drop of magical power they had!

“I saved up Gem Coins for so long — how did I spend them all so fast?” Iris said, still craving more.

“I know! The fun was way too short-lived.” Alba let out a sigh, then suddenly sprang to her feet. “No, I can’t waste such a great opportunity! I’m going to Breadfruit Grove to squeeze some breadfruit juice to recover my magical power. Every extra draw counts!”

The other young witches: “We’re going too!”

The young witches scrambled out of the castle in a flash, hopping on their brooms and flying off to Breadfruit Grove.

At this hour, most of them had no sugar or honey on hand, so the breadfruit juice they squeezed was completely and utterly pure.

Only Vasida and Sylph had no shortage of Gem Coins, and the card shop’s underage purchase restrictions had been lifted for them as well.

They simply bought the cards they needed directly from the card shop and exercised a bit of restraint with the gacha draws.

Having no need to torture their taste buds for a few extra Gem Coins, the three of them were the only ones left in the lounge.

“Moira, Sylph, let’s go watch the fun too!” Vasida said. “I just woke up and I’m not sleepy at all!”

“Sure!” Mo Lan said. “Let me show you something cool!”

Ten minutes later, an invisible flying carpet hovered above Breadfruit Grove.

Sylph ran her hand across the carpet’s soft surface and exclaimed, “You actually upgraded your broomstick to this extent?”

“Graduation’s right around the corner, so a flying carpet is more convenient for getting around,” Mo Lan said. “You and Vasida can buy {Material Cards} now too. After graduation, make sure to practice your Alchemy Magic! There are many things regular magic can’t do that Alchemy Magic can.”

Sylph nodded. “I’ve been thinking the same thing.”

“Moira, go a bit lower! Iris just finished squeezing the breadfruit juice!” Vasida lay flat on the carpet, her head poking over the edge as she peered down at Breadfruit Grove below.

In the depths of the night, Breadfruit Grove was filled with the sounds of young witches gasping and wincing from the sourness.

Every now and then, a few excited shrieks would ring out — that was someone who had recovered just enough magical power to top up and draw another good card.

Iris, Alba, and Cheryl were under the same breadfruit tree. They had each picked a large pile of breadfruit and were busy juicing and drinking.

Their expressions were the very picture of sour agony.

“Watching them like this reminds me of when we were first-years gnawing on breadfruit…” Sylph said.

“If we weren’t banned from privately using recording devices inside the Academy, I’d totally record how they look right now!” Vasida said. “Especially Iris — last time she lost a bet and had to drink breadfruit juice, the sourness nearly killed her. But now, for the sake of card draws, she’s going all in without any hesitation.”

“She drew a {Perpetual Seasoning Card}, and now she wants to draw a {Perpetual Vegetable Basket Card},” Mo Lan said. “But whether she’ll actually get it is another matter entirely.”

The limited-time card pool only doubled the drop rates. On top of that, there was one guaranteed card she had specially prepared for each young witch — one suited to them specifically — a secret graduation gift that only she knew about. It wasn’t a guarantee that every wish would come true.

“Moira, you ran today’s card event at a Mana loss, didn’t you?” Sylph said matter-of-factly.

“Losing a little is fine. I’ve earned more than enough normally,” Mo Lan said, looking at the Book of Cards in her hand.

The page currently open held two cards.

    One {Book of Cards}, and one {Status Card – Peak Level}.

    {Book of Cards}

    【Cards Developed: 2,234,218】

    【Cards In Development: 0】

    【Stored Energy: 213,458,293 Mana】

    {Status Card – Peak Level}

    【Name: Mo Lan】

    【Race: Witch / Sorceress】

    【Rank: Peak Level】

The text displayed on these two cards was a perfect record of everything she had achieved over the past five years.

In just five years, Mo Lan had gone from an Apprentice witch to a Peak Sorceress.

Natural Mana growth alone could never have brought her to such heights in so short a time — the vast majority had come from selling Card Magic.

The disposable Mana she had earned from selling cards was even greater. She still had a full two hundred million-plus Mana in card-crafting energy.

And that was after she had just crafted one {Permanent Energy Storage Card – 10,000 Mana}.

So it was actually over three hundred million.

She had far surpassed her original goal of preparing one {Permanent Energy Storage Card} with a 10,000 Mana capacity for herself before graduation.

Though {Permanent Energy Storage Cards} were expensive to craft, in the long run they were still more cost-effective than single-use Energy Storage Cards.
