Chapter 515 – Another Way
by spirapiraChapter 515 – Another Way
If there was anything that could still make all the other races wary after losing the Fireworks Witch’s protection, it was Sorceress Magic — now infiltrated deep into every race’s midst.
But Valen was simply too vast.
Ten years wouldn’t even be enough to fly across all of Valen on a broomstick, let alone spread the Dawn Society to every corner of it.
“Should we split up from here?” Lilith asked. “It’s the only way we might reach more places within ten years and spread the Dawn Society further.”
“Besides 《Valen Common Language》, Mage Empire language, and Yala Imperial Language, have any of you mastered other racial languages?” Mo Lan asked.
Lilith, Vasida, and Sylph all lowered their heads.
They had taken electives in every language course, but aside from Valen common tongue and the human Imperial Languages, they had only learned what was covered in class and nothing more. They hadn’t even reviewed any of it since graduating.
After all, according to their original plan, they would have stayed in the Mage Empire for much longer.
No one had expected things to turn out this way.
“If only we’d known — we would have studied more racial languages.”
All three of them were filled with regret.
“Languages aren’t easy to learn. Being fluent in Mage Empire language and Yala Imperial Language is already impressive,” Mo Lan consoled them.
She had a cheat — the ultra-powerful psychic power granted by Earth’s world consciousness, which gave her perfect recall. Learning a language was as simple as flipping through a book.
But Lilith and the others had to memorize and study everything on their own.
Their learning pace was predictably slow.
“Even if the four of us split up to sow the seeds of the Dawn Society across Valen, it would still be very difficult to complete this task within ten years — and it might even put us in danger.
I have another way!”
Mo Lan took out the Book of Cards and began operating it.
*
In the Witch Academy’s demiplane, deep beneath the Academy Castle, in the Headmistress’s Lounge — Amisha’s true body, who had been reading books about souls from her Grimoire, suddenly saw a magical light screen appear before her eyes that only she could see.
“???” Amisha looked confused. “Card Magic?”
She hadn’t used Card Magic at all!
Just as she was wondering whether something had gone wrong with the magic, the Card Magic light screen automatically switched from the card-drawing interface to the card album interface.
And in the first card slot of the card album, a card glowing with a brilliant red light had appeared.
“{Mo Lan’s Communication Card}?”
Amisha’s heart skipped a beat as she took out the card.
{Mo Lan’s Communication Card}
【Function: Long-distance text communication with Mo Lan…】
Before she could finish reading the function description, a line of text popped up on the card’s surface.
【Mo Lan: Headmistress! Headmistress! Are you there?】
Amisha tentatively said aloud: “Here?”
The card didn’t respond, and a new line of text appeared.
【Mo Lan: Headmistress, tap the dialogue box below and you can input Witch Script. Once you’ve finished typing, tap the send button.】
This was a card that displayed only Witch language text.
Amisha tapped the dialogue box, typed, and sent.
【Amisha: Here.】
【Amisha: What is this?】
【Mo Lan: This is a new instant communication card I made. It enables one-on-one text communication. But that’s not important — I have an urgent matter and need your help.】
【Amisha: This IS important. If you can make this card appear here and contact me instantly, does that mean you could also make the same card appear with other Card Magic contractors — like Lady Carmela?】
【Mo Lan: I’ll try making a more powerful communication card to contact Lady Carmela shortly. I just don’t know if the communication card can establish contact across worlds.】
The distance between the main world and a demiplane was nothing compared to true cross-world communication.
【Amisha: It should work. What do you need my help with?】
【Mo Lan: In order to spread magic faster, we’ve been secretly implementing the “Dawn Society Plan” in the Duchy of Lance…】
【Mo Lan: If we can infiltrate the Dawn Society into the other races, I’m confident we can make them too afraid to easily move against witches. But right now, relying on just the four of us and the contractors spreading it on their own, it will take a very long time. So I wanted to ask your opinion. You should have many adult witches’ magical seals, right? I’d like to ask you to send a golden bird letter to every witch you have contact information for, requesting their help.】
Mo Lan typed at blazing speed. If only the connection between the Book of Cards and the cards could directly transmit voice and images — she would have much preferred to just make a phone call.
After she finally finished explaining the situation, Madam Amisha didn’t reply for a long time, leaving Mo Lan and the others anxiously waiting.
Far away in the demiplane, Amisha was still reading through Mo Lan’s messages about how they had implemented the Dawn Society in the Duchy of Lance, along with the future plans for the society.
The more she read, the more her scalp tingled.
By the time she reached the end — the plan to set different card prices for different races based on their attitude toward witches once society members were spread throughout Valen — she fully grasped just how terrifying this plan was.
First, use cards to dominate the other races’ resource markets. Once they were completely dependent on the cards, launch a price war — one that deliberately wasn’t applied equally.
Wouldn’t the races paying higher prices be at a massive disadvantage compared to those paying lower ones?
Then who would be willing to risk putting their entire race at a disadvantage just to target witches?
Self-interest was a need that no intelligent being could ignore.
With this scheme in place, targeting witches would bring only harm and no benefit.
When that time came, wouldn’t the crisis brought by the disappearance of Fireworks Magic simply resolve itself?
Amisha excitedly typed her reply.
【Amisha: You came up with this plan?】
【Amisha: I’ll go to the Witch Council immediately and have them send every witch outside the Wilds a {Card Magic Contract} and a {Dawn Society Invitation}, so they can secretly distribute the {Dawn Society Invitations}.】
【Amisha: However, an operation on this scale might be noticed by some powerful figures among the other races. Even if they can’t trace it back to the witches, they might investigate the Dawn Society. Why don’t you all come back to the Wilds and lie low for a while?】
【Mo Lan: No need. I’ve already surpassed Peak level, and all my Elemental Magic has reached Peak level too. Very few people in Valen can threaten me now. Besides, the more Dawn Society contractors there are, the stronger I become. Next, I plan to infiltrate the Imperial Magic Academy to study magic and push my psychic power to its absolute limits.】
Amisha stared at Mo Lan’s reply in silence.
All Elemental Magic at Peak level? Psychic power?
Mo Lan had graduated just one year ago — not ten, right?
She herself had served as Headmistress at the Academy, and even with the Headmistress’s avatar ability, it had taken her who knew how many years to achieve the title of Omnipotent Witch.
And Mo Lan, barely a year past graduation, had already reached Peak level in all Elemental Magic?
