Chapter Index

The moment Garona saw Molan’s reply, she knew Molan had come for the angels.

Quite a few white witches chose to live within the Sacred Mountain Range to accelerate their magic power growth, but the only one who truly resided in the Holy City was Garona alone.

If you asked who among the nearby witches understood the angel race best, it was unquestionably her.

She had been consciously recording this information in her daily life.

【Garona: After reading so many novels, I’ve developed the urge to write myself. After hearing your request, I think the set of books I’ve written should suit your needs perfectly. Although they’re written in Witch Script and still being organized — I haven’t had time to translate them into the common language — there’s no problem lending them to you first. Come by my shop when you’re done with your business and I’ll give them to you.】

    【Molan: Okay.】

    Molan understood instantly.

Her request — wasn’t it simply to learn about the angels?

Garona saying the books suited her needs meant she would share what she knew through the books.

Books written in Witch Script couldn’t be understood by angels even if one happened to be peeking over her shoulder right now.

It seemed that after the Light-Shadow Sprite incident had been announced in the clan council group, the witches of the Sacred Mountain Range had become even more cautious.

【Garona: Oh right, I forgot to mention — the book is called Mo Mo Mo Mo Mo Mo Mo Mo Mo Mo Mo Mo Mo Mo Mo Mo Mo Mo Mo Mo Mo Mo 《Celestial Realm’s Most Wanted》.】

    Molan: “…”

Garona really was being a bit too cautious.

That title, mixed in among all the books at Garona’s tea restaurant, would be utterly inconspicuous.

Molan had already arrived at the bakery Garona had mentioned, so she put her {Communication Card} away for now.

From the outside, this bakery looked similar to Garona’s tea restaurant — a white two-story building.

Although the doors and windows were tightly shut with a copper lock hanging on the door, there wasn’t the slightest trace of abandonment.

The bench by the porch was free of even a speck of dust, and the Radiant Sunflowers on the second-floor balcony were flourishing. It looked as if the place had merely paused operations temporarily.

It wasn’t until Molan pressed up to the door and peered through the glass that she saw the moldy, decayed bread in the display cases inside, and finally believed that the owner really had left three years ago and never returned.

Molan used Metal Shaping to remove the copper lock from the door and pushed it open.

Outside was spotless with fresh air; inside was covered in dust and rotting food everywhere. It was like two completely different worlds.

Molan stood in the doorway, pulling out her {Witch Cleaning Tool Card} and manifesting all of her cleaning tools. She controlled them with cleaning magic, sending them inside to tidy up, while curiously watching the dust kicked up during cleaning vanish the instant it drifted out the door.

So the Holy City’s spotlessness was magical in nature.

The entire city, aside from indoor spaces, had automatic cleaning functionality everywhere.

At Molan’s command, the cleaning tools immediately began tossing all the filth they swept up out through the door or windows.

Sure enough, the moment these things left the building, they vanished as if they had never existed.

She then tossed a gold coin outside.

The gold coin clinked and bounced along the ground without disappearing.

Molan’s interest was piqued. She chased after the magical fluctuations from when the garbage had vanished and went outside to investigate. “How exactly does it determine what’s garbage and what isn’t?”

After squatting on the road and studying the ground tiles for about ten minutes, she finally figured it out.

It turned out the Holy City’s outdoor auto-cleaning magic array judged whether something was garbage based on how dirty, messy, or deteriorated the target object appeared.

Dust and grime were categorized as garbage to be cleaned away. A clean gold coin was treated as a normal object and would remain perfectly safe on the ground.

But if a gold coin caked in mud fell to the ground, it would be swept away in seconds.

However, a golden ball filled with filth on the inside would remain perfectly safe if it rolled onto the outdoor road.

After figuring out this cleaning mechanism, Molan didn’t even know what to say.

So the angels’ obsession with cleanliness only cared about appearances.

Anything inside the house that wasn’t needed, Molan had the cleaning tools sweep outside as garbage.

Some personal belongings left behind by the previous owner were gathered and stacked up in the attic.

Items that the cleaning magic array didn’t classify as garbage just needed a little damage — the moment they showed any wear, they were swept away as trash.

It had to be said, living in the Holy City made taking out the garbage incredibly convenient.

After the house was emptied out, Molan finally went inside.

This building had the first and second floors completely separated.

The first floor was for running a shop — the front hall served as the storefront, and behind it were a kitchen, a storage room, and a washroom.

The second floor was the living area, complete with a bedroom, study, walk-in closet, reception room, and washroom.

Molan didn’t change the previous owner’s layout of the house. She simply filled it with her own belongings.

The oven and kneading table in the kitchen were removed and replaced with her {Mobile Kitchen}.

The storefront and storage room on the first floor were left empty for now, with only some toiletries placed in the washroom.

The various living areas on the second floor were also filled with the personal items she had prepared for her white witch identity.

Once everything was set up, she grabbed the books borrowed from Garona, flopped down in the study, and began appreciating Valen’s “popular fiction,” recapturing that long-lost feeling of reading web novels back when she was a student in her previous life.

No — it was even better than reading web novels.

Molan wiggled her fingers and the book floating before her eyes turned a page. The moment she opened her mouth, Zhizhi stuffed a straw into it. How could reading web novels in her previous life have ever been this comfortable?

The imagination of the Valen people exceeded even Molan’s expectations with its avant-garde boldness, carrying a kind of wild, exhilarating thrill that left her clicking her tongue in amazement.

Only after finishing did she realize that not only was the protagonist of every book a witch, but even the authors were all witches. No wonder the sense of immersion was so strong.

Before the sky even darkened, she had finished all five books.

These books not only had thrilling, roller-coaster plots, but also had an extraordinary ability to stir emotions.

Though for Molan, who had read an enormous number of novels, this normally wouldn’t have had much effect on her.

But she couldn’t resist the mind magic woven into the books. The moment Molan slightly lowered her mental defenses, she was hooked and drawn completely in.

After finishing the books, Molan still felt her heart pounding wildly, as if she had truly become the protagonist and lived through an unforgettable journey.

“The mind magic on these books is brilliantly done!” Molan was deeply inspired. If she weren’t in the Holy City right now where summoning the Book of Cards would be inconvenient, she would have loved to immediately design and produce a huge batch of Earth games, videos, music, and novel cards with immersive mind effects and list them in the Card Mall.

However, while these books were great for relaxation and stirring emotions, one couldn’t afford to become addicted.

No matter how thrilling the stories were, they were still fiction and could only bring momentary happiness.

Molan controlled herself and didn’t immediately rush to Garona’s to borrow more books. Instead, she turned her attention to the newly added group on her {Communication Card}.
