Chapter 652 – Traci’s Advice
by spirapiraChapter 652 – Traci’s Advice
“Looking across Valen’s magical systems, in terms of comprehensiveness, Witch Magic and human mage magic stand above all others. Witch Magic encompasses a full twenty types of magical energy, while human mage magic involves eleven.
In terms of raw power, however, it is the magic of the Dragons, Angels, and Demons that reigns supreme.
As for the magic of the other races…”
Traci shook her head slightly. “They possess neither the comprehensiveness of Witch Magic nor the power to rival the three apex races. At best, they’ve made some achievements in certain specific fields.”
She lifted her gaze to Mo Lan, a hint of admiration in her eyes. “You’ve already mastered the most comprehensive and most powerful forms of magic, and your attainments run quite deep.
The remaining ones—whether Elf, Dwarf, Merfolk, or Orc—the magical energies they employ all fall within the scope of Witch Magic, and they hold no advantage in terms of power. At most, they have some distinctive approaches to energy application that might help you understand the essence of magic from different angles.
But whether you study them or not, it won’t have any substantial impact on your plans to explore the Well of the Sky.”
Traci carefully analyzed the pros and cons for her. “I notice your Book of Cards needs to constantly absorb new knowledge and new materials to create new cards.
That being the case, venturing out to explore other worlds should yield far greater rewards than continuing to study the magical systems of Valen’s remaining races.
After you reach the Well of the Sky, you should first seek out worlds where the mainstream magical energy is similar to Valen’s but the world’s level is slightly higher, so you can acclimate. This way, you can familiarize yourself with the rules of otherworldly exploration while also raising your own magical proficiency. Your current Mana rank has already far surpassed your magic level.
After that, you can gradually attempt to challenge worlds with greater differences in magical energy and learn new magical systems.
Remember, before venturing to any new world, you must make thorough preparations. The Witch race maintains a dedicated Otherworld Archives at the Well of the Sky, housing precious intelligence left behind by generations of Witch explorers. You must make good use of it…”
Mo Lan listened with rapt attention, committing every word from Senior Traci to memory.
After finishing her instructions to Mo Lan, Traci turned to the other three young Sorceresses.
Her gaze first settled on Lilith:
“Lilith, for you, planes rich in magical races or with powerful magical bloodlines would be the ideal exploration choices. Hmm… In the Otherworld Archives, there’s a set callederta《Encyclopedia of Universal Magical Races》. You absolutely must read it. The content is rather extensive, but it’s definitely worth it…”
Lilith immediately pulled out a Recording Card and recorded everything Senior Traci said.
“Sylph, natural-type worlds rich in wood-element and life energy are most suitable for your development. You can obtain magical plant seeds from other worlds through trades with fellow explorers. The materials on natural-type worlds are all catalogued on the Third Floor of the Archives…”
“Vasida, your Devouring Stomach—I think it would be very well-suited to gourmet worlds. You should check the Otherworld Archives when the time comes. I once visited a gourmet world, and the native races’ methods of consuming food there are very worth studying for you. After you reach the Well of the Sky, you can contact me. I still have an invitation to that gourmet world…”
Finally, Traci reminded all four of them: “Remember, before you actually set foot in the Well of the Sky, there’s truly little I can reveal about the specifics of that place. But one thing you must keep in mind—under no circumstances should you miss the Otherworld Archives. If you have any questions at all…”
She paused, exchanging a knowing glance with Carmela beside her, and they spoke in unison: “You can contact us anytime.”
The four young Sorceresses nodded obediently.
Mo Lan, who had already decided to head for the Well of the Sky in the near future, felt a deep sense of reassurance upon learning that the Witch race maintained an Otherworld Archives there, similar to the Witch Council Library.
What she feared most was being dropped into a new environment knowing nothing at all.
But now, she was no longer afraid.
Knowledge is confidence! Once she reached the Well of the Sky, she would copy down and read through every last piece of free material in the Otherworld Archives that Senior Traci had mentioned!
As dusk deepened, the Sorceresses’ welcome banquet drew to a close beneath the starlight.
After Traci and Carmela teleported away, Mo Lan and her three companions immediately threw themselves into intense preparations.
Lilith and Vasida hunched over their desks writing furiously, quill pens scratching across Parchment as they drafted detailed Witch Magic training plans.
They resolved to elevate all branches of their Witch Magic to the Peak realm in the shortest time possible, shoring up their weaknesses.
Sylph, meanwhile, used a Communication Card to contact the Witch Council overnight, filing a detailed report on the important discoveries regarding the Witch Tree and the cultivation of young witches.
By the time the Council’s senior witches hurried over through the teleportation array, Mo Lan had long since prepared the divination crystal ball and the adapted Sorceress edition of the 《Young Witch’s Primer》.
She explained the divination results in an orderly fashion and solemnly handed over the precious materials to the Council witches.
After handling these matters, Mo Lan returned to her room and had a good sleep.
Unfortunately, even without meditation, her sleep requirements had diminished considerably by now. She hadn’t slept long before her body and mind were restored to peak condition, and she woke up.
After getting up and washing, she selected a gourmet card and materialized a sumptuous breakfast.
Then she stepped outside, stood in the courtyard, and snapped her fingers lightly. Her mobile dwelling transformed into a shimmering, iridescent card and slipped into her card album.
Zhizhi also obediently shrank down to her smallest size and burrowed into the specially modified pocket of Mo Lan’s outer robe.
This seemingly ordinary hidden pocket was far more spacious than it appeared.
Mo Lan had used Spatial Magic to expand its interior to the size of a bedroom, and she had set ventilation spells at the pocket’s opening to ensure Zhizhi was both comfortable and never felt stifled inside.
After confirming all her belongings were in order, Mo Lan took out a Communication Card and informed Madam Amisha that she would soon be heading to the Well of the Sky.
Madam Amisha likewise reminded her about the existence of the Otherworld Archives.
Before departing, Mo Lan first cast a luck spell upon herself, gleaming with golden light, then used the Fortune-Telling Spell to divine the day’s fortune.
When the characters for “Great Fortune” appeared floating in the crystal ball, a confident smile curved the corner of her lips.
“I’m off!” Mo Lan waved to the companions who had come to see her off, then for the first time, actively responded to the pull from the Well of the Sky.
In an instant, a powerful suction force enveloped her.
Sylph and the other two saw only a flash of purple light before Mo Lan transformed into a dazzling streak of radiance that shot skyward, vanishing into the slowly rotating energy vortex in the sky.
The main content of the Valen arc concludes here. The remaining adventures will be interwoven into the next volume, the Otherworld arc.
