Chapter Index

This diversity of magical culture was like a treasure trove to Mo Lan — as if she were standing in a warehouse filled with rare and precious goods, wanting to take every single one.

It wasn’t until she saw the acquisition method for a title called “Omni-Experiencer” on the forums that Mo Lan made up her mind completely — she wanted all of it!

Although dream adventurers could only possess one race in the dream realm, and most of the time could only choose one class — with only a very small number of classes allowing dual-classing — changing one’s race and class template wasn’t actually difficult.

The only catch was that once you selected a new race and class, the abilities attached to your old race and class would disappear.

The “Omni-Experiencer” title was earned on the Beginner Zone floating islands by switching through a total of one hundred different races and classes.

Explorers who held this title would receive a detailed personalized development plan for Beginner Zone classes. Through this plan, they could learn which races, classes, and class skills in the Beginner Zone were best suited for them.

Mo Lan wasn’t particularly interested in the “Omni-Experiencer” title itself, but it gave her an idea.

If switching races and classes was this easy, why not try every single one that interested her?

Even if later-learned abilities would overwrite earlier ones, as long as she had learned them, she could use the Book of Cards to create the corresponding cards.

That would achieve her goal all the same.

Moreover, the comprehensive guides on the forums had paved the way for her. The acquisition methods and prerequisites for every dream citizen race, class template, and magical skill in the Beginner Zone were all laid out clearly. Learning all of them wouldn’t actually be that difficult.

She could learn everything openly and aboveboard — no need to sneak around using Psychic Magic to read other people’s memories like she had to in Valen.

Although she planned to visit every floating island in the Beginner Zone, the order in which she did so was quite important.

Complex relationship networks existed between the dream citizens of different floating islands. Some villages and towns had been on friendly terms for generations, while others harbored mutual hostility due to historical grudges.

If she acquired a class belonging to a hostile race on one floating island, it could very well make the next island impassable.

After repeatedly cross-referencing intelligence from the forums, Mo Lan finally settled on an optimal route.

She chose Forest Isle as her first stop.

This was because Forest Isle not only maintained relatively neutral relations with the other floating islands, but also had a race that interested her in the island’s Greenwood Village — the Dryad race.

The Dryads not only possessed a degree of natural affinity talent, allowing them to learn nature-based magical skills, but also had a special racial talent called Natural Shapeshifting, which let them transform into plants or animals.

When it came to shapeshifting abilities, Mo Lan only had one — brewing transformation potions.

However, the shapeshifting effects of transformation potions were limited to the range of humanoid creatures and were generally only used for disguising one’s appearance.

The Dryads, on the other hand, could innately shapeshift into one type of animal or one type of plant.

This shapeshifting ability was not only used in their daily lives but also served as a bridge for communicating with natural energy.

Combined with the specialty class templates mastered by the Dryads of Greenwood Village — “Forest Warden” and “Beast Speaker” — their natural magic talent and natural shapeshifting talent could be developed to their fullest potential.

Forest Wardens specialized in cultivating plants, with expertise in Plant Magic and plant shapeshifting abilities. Beast Speakers specialized in communicating with animals, could tame various wild beasts, and had expertise in animal shapeshifting abilities.

The skill books for these two classes were held by many Dryad dream citizens in Greenwood Village.

After confirming her departure point, a notification popped up on the light screen:【”Forest Isle – Greenwood Village” has been selected as your “Departure Point.” Confirm?】

Mo Lan pressed the confirm button without hesitation. The Greenwood Village marker on the map suddenly lit up with an emerald glow. The next moment, she felt the soft touch of grass blades beneath her feet, and the crisp, fresh scent unique to forests lingered at the tip of her nose.

She was already at the entrance of Greenwood Village.

Ahead, elaborate treehouses were built upon the trunks of towering ancient trees, and vine-woven suspension bridges connected the various structures. Most of the people moving among them had pale green skin with leaf-patterned markings, thick brown curly hair, and amber eyes.

Leaf-like skin, root-like hair, and piercing beast-like pupils were the hallmarks of the Dryad race.

Further in, she could see in the distance a clearing where no great trees grew and sunlight streamed down through the canopy onto a meadow. Various flowers and grasses swayed cheerfully in the sunlight, and a number of small wild animals basked on the grass.

Mo Lan figured those flowers, grasses, and small animals were all Dryads in their shapeshifted forms.

According to the forum data, at the entrance of Greenwood Village there was a large stone inscribed with the village’s prohibitions — required reading before entering.

Mo Lan spotted the stone. It was about seven paces to her left, but she couldn’t read a single character on it.

She wasn’t surprised, though, and said quietly, “Adventurer panel!”

The familiar light screen appeared before her.

    【Adventurer: Mo Lan】

    【Race: Human】

    【Class: None】

    【Experience: None】

    【Skills: None】

    【Equipment: Beginner Pajama Set】

    【Backpack:《General Skill Book – Dream Tongue》】

This adventurer panel was remarkably similar to the Status Card she had created — in fact, it was even more detailed.

There was an information interface containing data on race, class, experience, and skills, though it seemed unable to detect Mo Lan’s innate magical abilities.

There was also an equipment panel with her avatar, and finally a backpack panel.

The backpack had ten initial inventory slots.

Each slot could hold one type of item, and identical items could stack up to ninety-nine — somewhat like a video game inventory.

Mo Lan took out the sole item from her backpack.

This copy of《General Skill Book – Dream Tongue》, along with the Beginner Pajama Set she was wearing, was everything that all dream adventurers started with upon first entering the dream realm.

She had been curious about the dream realm’s skill books for a long time — she wondered how they could let someone instantly learn a type of magic or master a skill just by using one.

After taking it out, Mo Lan was sorely disappointed.

《General Skill Book – Dream Tongue》turned out to be nothing more than a gray booklet that couldn’t be opened. There was nothing visibly special about it.

The writing on the booklet was also unrecognizable to her — she guessed it was probably in Dream Tongue.

The dream realm had only one language: Dream Tongue.

Rather than immediately using the skill book by slapping it against her forehead as the forums instructed, Mo Lan summoned the Book of Cards and slotted the skill book into one of its card slots.

After a moment, a card appeared in her hand: {《General Skill Book – Dream Tongue》}.

Although she still hadn’t figured out exactly how the skill book was made, after the Book of Cards consumed《General Skill Book – Dream Tongue》, it gained the knowledge needed to create the corresponding skill book card.

The Mana cost for creating one was much higher than a single {Knowledge Card -《Valen Common Language》}, but for Mo Lan, that was a mere drop in the bucket.

After she materialized this card, she had a brand new copy of《General Skill Book – Dream Tongue》.
