    Chapter 731 – Traci’s Gift

Mo Lan never found absorbing new knowledge to be a tedious affair.

On the contrary, whenever she encountered new magical theories or was struck by a sudden flash of inspiration, she felt as though she’d found treasure.

It was just that there was never enough time. She always had to prioritize by importance, making trade-offs, and these unavoidable choices often left her torn.

It was during her time in the solo dream instance that she first experienced what it felt like to study freely, following her heart’s desire.

She could proceed entirely at her own pace—researching whatever came to mind, practicing Magic however she wished—without worrying that too much time passing would cause her to miss major changes in the outside world, and without agonizing over how to allocate her time.

That pure sense of freedom—pursuing knowledge purely for the sake of knowledge—was downright addictive.

Sometimes she even fantasized about claiming a solo dream instance for herself and converting it into a dedicated Magic research laboratory.

Unfortunately, the rules of the dream realm didn’t allow it, and with the Dreamweaver World having recently adjusted its task system, this beautiful notion could only remain a fantasy.

“I don’t understand why you’re always so anxious about time, but I completely agree with what you said—learning is a joyful thing, and unrestricted free learning is even more joyful! Let me think…”

Traci’s slender fingers tapped lightly against the tabletop, producing crisp sounds. “If we’re talking about obtaining a small living space similar to an instance, the ‘Three Thousand Mirror Ruins World’ is absolutely the best choice. My spatial greenhouse was inspired by that world.”

“It rarely posts tasks, but whenever it does, it loves using invitation passes as rewards. I’ve been there several times and should still have some in stock—though I’m not sure if they’ve expired…”

As she spoke, she unfastened the seemingly ordinary leather pouch from her waist. When the mouth of the bag loosened, it spilled out a cascade of exquisite little objects.

Gemstone rings, carved bracelets, miniature brooches… each one radiating a unique spatial power.

“Aha! This is the one!” She plucked a silver ring set with an emerald gemstone from the pile of spatial equipment with unerring precision.

Traci deftly retrieved a stack of faintly glowing invitation passes from within it, inspecting them one by one.

“This one’s expired… this one too…” she muttered with mild regret, then suddenly let out a delighted exclamation. “Found it! This one’s still valid!”

She pushed an invitation pass edged with swirling iridescent light toward Mo Lan.

“Here, take it. This is an invitation pass to the Three Thousand Mirror Ruins World, though it only has ten years left on it.”

Mo Lan was absolutely stunned by Traci’s collection—an entire spatial ring full of invitation passes, and all of them precious best-friend invitations at that. It was simply outrageous. “Just how many other worlds have you been to?!”

Traci casually swirled the wine glass in her hand, the straw stirring a tiny whirlpool in the amber liquid. “Not that many. A few hundred, maybe a thousand or so.”

She said this as casually as if discussing what she’d had for breakfast.

After taking a sip of her drink, Traci suddenly remembered something. She set down her glass and rummaged out another stack of invitation passes, from which she precisely selected one and handed it to Mo Lan.

“If the small living space from the Three Thousand Mirror Ruins World can’t perfectly integrate with the Dream Chronodisk to realize your vision, then you can try this world instead. It has formations that can control the flow of time, as well as grotto-heaven spaces that are more advanced than small living spaces.”

Mo Lan took the invitation pass. On it, written in vigorous brushstrokes, were four seal-script characters reading “Cangyuan World.” She actually recognized them, and moreover… She looked up sharply. “Isn’t this… the world that the Witch Academy’s demiplane originated from?”

“That’s right.” Traci nodded. “But I should warn you—ever since Cangyuan World opened its ascension passages, it’s been divided into three layers: the Mortal Realm, the Spirit Realm, and the Immortal Realm.”

She held up three fingers and curled them down one by one. “The time formations and grotto-heaven spaces you’re looking for are rare in the Mortal Realm. You’d probably need to ascend to the Spirit Realm or even the Immortal Realm to learn about them…”

Mo Lan carefully noted Traci’s advice, but still: “This is a permanent best-friend invitation pass, isn’t it? It’s far too valuable! I can’t just take something like this for nothing…”

“Oh come on, why are you so hung up on this~”

Traci burst out laughing, then casually produced a jade token of pure, luminous white from her waist and waved it before Mo Lan’s eyes. The token was carved with intricate cloud patterns, and the characters for “Cangyuan” shimmered faintly at its center.

“See this? I have a Cangyuan Realm invitation jade token. It generates a new permanent invitation pass every ten years.”

She offhandedly drew yet another brand-new invitation pass from the token. “Look, another one. These things are like candy wrappers to me—I’ve got a whole drawer full and can’t even use them all!”

Mo Lan stared in open-mouthed astonishment.

But Traci suddenly dropped her playful expression, her silver-gray eyes becoming exceptionally serious. “Cangyuan World’s world-level is quite high. If you ever truly encounter danger… don’t hesitate. Withdraw immediately. Don’t feel sorry about wasting the invitation pass—just come find me for another one anytime!”

Seeing that Mo Lan still looked somewhat uneasy, Traci smiled lightly and took a sip of her drink. “Once you reach my level, you’ll understand—these things really aren’t a big deal.”

She winked. “But if you really feel that guilty about it… how about this?”

    Mo Lan immediately perked up.

Traci swirled the liquid in her Crystal glass. “Make good use of your Book of Cards and turn the specialty magical materials from the Three Thousand Mirror Ruins and Cangyuan World into cards. Having to make a special trip every time I need some materials is such a hassle!”

Mo Lan’s eyes lit up—she knew exactly what to give Traci!

She summoned the Book of Cards and drew out a card she had made long ago but had never given to anyone. “This is for you!”

It was the highest-tier discount card she had ever issued. The cardholder could purchase any card she produced at cost plus ten percent.

Traci accepted the card with curiosity, raised an eyebrow, and grinned. “I thought the discount for Witches was already generous enough—I didn’t expect there was an even better deal! I’m going to be frequenting your card shop from now on~ Won’t I bankrupt you?”

Mo Lan said sheepishly, “If you only count the energy consumed in card-making, I still make a tiny profit…”

But if one factored in the time costs of gathering materials and designing cards, at this price, she was essentially making nothing.

How could Traci not see through that? “Compared to the energy consumed, the knowledge required for card-making is what’s truly precious!”

After thinking it over, she decided she couldn’t let a junior lose out. She sorted through her collection of various invitation passes and picked out a portion that still had relatively long validity periods. “Take all of these! They’re all worlds I’ve visited and found quite interesting, but they’re no longer active in the Well of the Sky, so it’s hard to see them posting tasks anymore. You love learning so much—it’d be a shame not to go see them!”
