Chapter 836 – The Night of the Full Moon
by spirapiraMo Lan had also prepared similar purple formal dresses for herself, Zhizhi, Clack, and Sentai.
Everything was ready. All that remained was to wait for the full moon to rise and the guests to arrive.
Outside the lakeside cottage at the end of the lakefront greenway in Witch’s Town, two figures quietly materialized.
Amisha and Traci had come together.
“This is the place?” Amisha looked at the cottage before her, which appeared exceptionally quiet under the moonlight—perhaps even excessively so—and furrowed her brow slightly.
The windows were pitch black without a sliver of light showing through, and no sounds of revelry could be heard anywhere nearby. This looked nothing like a venue about to host a grand evening party.
“That girl Moira wouldn’t be playing a joke on us, would she? This is really her Witch’s home?”
She double-checked the address on the invitation—it was definitely correct.
She hadn’t connected Mo Lan’s “Witch’s home” with the “small life-space” mentioned during their earlier communications at all. After all, even the Witch Academy’s demiplane couldn’t maintain such a stable, permanent teleportation channel long-term.
A glint of understanding and anticipation flickered in Traci’s eyes beside her.
She had been to the Three Thousand Mirror Ruins World and naturally knew what extraordinary innate advantages the mirror spaces there held when it came to opening and maintaining teleportation channels.
“Perhaps… it’s more than just a joke,” she said softly, already suspecting that behind this door lay a connection to an entirely different realm.
With a trace of doubt, Amisha stepped forward and knocked on the seemingly ordinary door.
Almost the instant the knock sounded, the door was yanked open from the inside with a swift “whoosh”—startlingly fast.
Mo Lan’s beaming face appeared in the doorway. “Headmistress, Senior Traci, you’re here! Please, come in!”
She had been waiting inside the door the whole time, opening it the moment someone knocked.
Amisha’s gaze was instantly drawn to the brightly lit, warm, and cozy Living Room visible beyond the doorway.
She instinctively turned to glance at the still-dark windows on the outside of the cottage, then immediately understood. Surprise was written plainly across her face. “Your home… is in another plane?”
“It doesn’t even qualify as a demiplane,” Mo Lan said modestly, stepping aside to let them in. “It’s merely a small life-space built upon the rules of the Three Thousand Mirror Ruins World.”
Amisha and Traci stepped through the doorway with curiosity.
The entire process lacked even the slightest hint of the discomfort typical of spatial teleportation—it was so smooth it felt as though they had simply stepped over an ordinary threshold.
Had it not been for the fact that the view through the Living Room windows revealed an entirely different landscape of meadows, a pond, and distant mountains, and that one could sense a faint fluctuation of spatial power upon entering, they truly would have thought they had merely walked into a room.
“How… how on earth is this possible?”
Amisha couldn’t help but ask. As Headmistress of the Witch Academy, she personally opened the Academy demiplane’s teleportation channel every year to transport students, and she was intimately familiar with the discomfort that accompanied spatial transfers. She had never experienced such a seamless teleportation.
Mo Lan explained with a smile, “This space originates from a mirror space within the Three Thousand Mirror Ruins World, where the spatial laws are inherently robust and flourishing. Even in a small life-space, the internal spatial rules are quite well-developed, so the teleportation channels it constructs are exceptionally stable, making the experience much more pleasant.”
Just then, the uniquely designed magical clock hanging on the wall suddenly stirred to life.
A delicately carved little wooden bird popped out of a small door with a “pop” and called out in a crisp voice, “A guest has arrived! A guest has arrived!”
Immediately after, without anyone touching it, the hands on the clock face began to rotate elegantly on their own, coming to a precise stop at a marking decorated with a small volcano icon. Almost the instant the hands settled, clear knocking sounds came from beyond the door, which had been quiet just moments ago.
Mo Lan seemed long accustomed to this and immediately went to open the door, greeting warmly, “Cheryl, you’re here!”
The scene beyond the door made Amisha’s pupils contract—the faint scent of sulfur in the air and the dark crimson glow of the volcano was unmistakably the distinctive landscape found only in the Durin Volcanic Cluster region!
Cheryl, just stepping through the door, also wore a look of amazement. She glanced back at the outside, then looked around the interior, murmuring, “Strange, your house… looks so much bigger on the inside than the outside!”
It wasn’t until she came inside and exchanged greetings with Amisha and Traci, her gaze casually sweeping past the Living Room windows to catch sight of the pond, meadows, and distant mountains beyond, that Cheryl belatedly realized this was far more than just an expanded interior!
Mo Lan closed the door, shutting out the heat and bustle of the Dwarven Royal City.
Amisha’s and Traci’s gazes were now firmly fixed on that magical clock.
They watched the exquisite icons on the clock face, and soon enough, knocking came again.
The magical clock’s hands rotated once more on their own, this time pointing to a great sword icon.
When the door opened, Shana walked in.
The hands moved to an island icon—when the door opened, Iris from Gourmet Island entered.
The hands pointed to a white wings icon—Alba and the witches of the Eight-Times-Speed Gossip Alliance came in.
The hands pointed to a black dead tree—Anna and Annie came in.
The hands pointed to an apprentice hat icon—the door opened to reveal Grandma Dayla.
Aside from Shana, who had visited before, every guest who entered bore varying degrees of confusion and wonder, and when they caught sight of the scenery outside the windows, their astonishment peaked.
Then, upon seeing the magical clock that continuously indicated the direction of incoming guests, everyone had their moment of revelation.
Each icon on the magical clock represented a distant set of coordinates, and every time the door opened, the outside was a different place.
After the last invited guest arrived through the door guided by the magical clock, the Living Room was already filled with laughter and cheerful conversation.
Seeing that everyone had arrived, Mo Lan turned to address the group. “Welcome, everyone, to my Witch’s home! Thank you all so much for coming to today’s housewarming party!”
She spread her arms, gesturing at their surroundings. “As you can see, this is my Living Room, and it also serves as a small hub connecting various locations.”
Her gaze swept across the wondrous magical clock on the wall, and everyone shared a knowing smile.
“But the Living Room is still too small,” Mo Lan said with a playful wink. “The real surprise is outside. Now, let me give you all a tour of my Witch’s home mirror space!”
With that, she pulled open the door once more.
This time, the view through the doorway matched the scenery beyond the windows.
A shimmering pond lay embedded in the thick, soft green mossy grass like an enormous gemstone. In the distance, snow-capped mountains, forests, bays, meadows, and other ecological zones traced enchanting silhouettes beneath the hazy night sky and moonlight.
Like a guide, Mo Lan led everyone out onto the soft grass and toward the banquet grounds beside the pond.
“Tonight’s banquet will be held right here on the grass. In the distance are small ecological zones I’ve created for the flora and fauna I’ve brought back from other worlds. Feel free to explore them later.”
