Chapter Index

Watching Mo Lan circulate through the gathering, asking around only to return empty-handed time after time, her face unable to hide her disappointment, Cecilia and Pushila approached her on their own.

“Seeing you wander around for so long, are you still looking for invitations to worlds above Thirteenth Rank?” Cecilia asked in a gentle tone.

Seeing Mo Lan nod, Cecilia sighed knowingly and patted her on the shoulder. “Among us Witches, it’s perfectly normal that you can’t find one…”

“The Valen world itself is only a Fifth Rank world,” Cecilia explained patiently. “Apart from you—the Grindlord Sorceress who doesn’t hesitate to accelerate time to improve herself—the highest-ranked caster among the native intelligent races, as far as we know, is only Seventh Rank.

And a Seventh Rank caster typically corresponds to a world level cap of roughly Twelfth Rank.

So even if a high-level world above Thirteenth Rank truly encountered difficulties and needed to post a task through the Well of the Sky seeking help from otherworldly Explorers, when screening for collaborators, they would mostly look for Explorers of Eighth Rank or above to ensure the task’s success rate.

For Valen’s Explorers, the chances of receiving a task from a world above Thirteenth Rank through our own Well of the Sky are virtually nonexistent.

By the same logic, invitations from such high-level worlds naturally wouldn’t fall into our hands easily.

Compared to us, you actually have a better chance of receiving world tasks from worlds above Thirteenth Rank through the Well of the Sky.”

Mo Lan nodded. “Is waiting at the Well of the Sky really the only option?”

A world of such high level would be powerful enough on its own—the likelihood of it posting tasks through the Well of the Sky was truly slim.

“Well, it’s not as if there are absolutely no other avenues,” Pushila said, rubbing her chin. “Perhaps you could try asking the high-ranked Explorers of other races. They should have world invitation tokens for the Seran world.”

“The Seran world?” Mo Lan thought for a moment and recalled the information about that world. “Is that the original world of those otherworldly races from the Divine Descent Era?”

“It seems your understanding of the Divine Descent Era goes beyond what’s in those simplified, abridged history textbooks,” Cecilia said with a smile.

“I only know a little. Is that world’s level very high?” Mo Lan asked curiously.

    Cecilia nodded.

“Let me first tell you about the history from the Divine Descent Era that was hidden due to the rules of the Well of the Sky!

Before the Divine Descent Era, the human civilization of the Valen world was still extremely primitive and weak, virtually powerless against natural disasters. A few major catastrophes caused the population to plummet, nearly driving them to extinction, and even the Valen world consciousness itself fell into a critical state, with the world’s level once dropping to zero.

It was at that moment that a violent upheaval erupted within a powerful world called Seran in a nearby star region.

The Seran world possessed numerous powerful magical races, many of which had long since produced casters capable of exploring the cosmos.

To preserve the seeds of their civilizations amid the upheaval, some of these races decided to split off branches and undertake cross-world migration.

The Valen world, though barren at the time, held great potential, and was one of the worlds they chose to migrate to.

Although their initial goal was merely to settle down in Valen and propagate, their attitude toward Valen’s native humans ranged from exploitation and suppression to simply staying out of each other’s way.

But the advanced knowledge, powerful strength, and unique civilizations they brought with them still profoundly influenced the humans who were still in the dark ages of ignorance.

Under their influence, humans began developing rapidly, eventually giving rise to their own magical civilization. As time passed, these foreign races also became fully integrated into Valen, accepted by the world consciousness, branded with Valen’s mark, and became part of the Valen world.

The Valen world also began developing rapidly, its world level rising swiftly.

As for the Seran world, after weathering its internal turmoil, it continued to develop, and has now advanced into a powerful Fifteenth Rank world!

Among those races that migrated from the Seran world back then, some with extremely ancient lineages and deep reserves of strength very likely still maintain a certain connection with their homeland to this day.

To my knowledge, the Angels, Demons, Dragons, and Elves all possess world invitation tokens to the Seran world, passed down from their ancestors.

At regular intervals, they can send clansmen with excellent bloodlines back to their race’s place of origin for advanced training.

I can’t say for sure about the Angels and Demons, but with the Dragons and Elves, if you can offer a price that’s tempting enough, trading with them for an invitation to the Seran world—or even a Realm-friend invitation—should be achievable.”

Hearing this, Mo Lan’s eyes lit up with understanding.

She carefully considered the bargaining chips at her disposal, then confirmed once more, “So you’re saying that among the Explorers of other races in the Valen world, there are currently none at Eighth Rank or above either?”

Cecilia shook her head with certainty.

    “Of course not!

You have to understand, when those branch races that migrated from the Seran world descended upon Valen, none of them exceeded Peak level in strength—any stronger and coming to Valen would only have held them back.

Among races like the Angels, Demons, and Dragons—those with deep racial foundations and enormous potential—there might be a handful of clansmen with exceptionally excellent bloodlines who could advance to Eighth Rank within a mere few thousand years. But an Eighth Rank caster is already a pillar of elite strength even in a great world like Seran.

Such prodigies, often before even reaching Eighth Rank, would use the Realm-friend invitations held within their clan to return to the more resource-rich Seran world. They simply wouldn’t stay in Valen wasting their time.

As for the other races with somewhat lesser foundations and potential, they either possess only a limited number of Seran world invitations or have none at all. Trying to cultivate another Eighth Rank caster in Valen within just a few thousand years is virtually impossible.

For truly native intelligent races of Valen like humans and us Witches—though our potential is enormous, we’ve only been developing for a relatively short time and haven’t accumulated enough foundations. Currently, the strongest among us are only Sixth Rank.

Only you Sorceresses are the most favored darlings of the Valen world consciousness, rising as latecomers to surpass all others.

Lady Traci, Lady Carmela, and Lady Anita—all three have already reached Seventh Rank, and you’ve even advanced to Eighth Rank.

This is unprecedented in the entire history of the Valen world.”

“Seniors, if you had a sufficient number of Seventh Rank and Eighth Rank Magic Cards, would you be confident in defeating the Dao Ancestors of the Immortal Realm on your own and rescuing those cultivation worlds?” Mo Lan asked.

“Of course!” Cecilia and Pushila said without hesitation.

With a sufficient number of Seventh and Eighth Rank Magic Cards, they could fully replicate Mo Lan’s approach of Psychic Magic control combined with other magical firepower suppression.

“Then I know exactly what to do!” Mo Lan was instantly filled with confidence.
