Chapter Index

Seeing the puzzled looks from Cecilia and Pushila, Mo Lan explained:

“The Immortal Realm should currently still have twelve Dao Ancestors, and they may also expend source power to produce more Dao Ancestors to intercept those who try to sever the ascension channels.

You already know the coordinates of the Immortal Realm now. What you’re really lacking are the means to deal with Dao Ancestor cultivators.

With Eighth Rank Psychic Magic assisting, the cost of slaying Dao Ancestors has already been greatly reduced. I’m perfectly capable of temporarily lending some disposable Mana to you all for purchasing {Magic Cards} to deal with these worlds.

Based on the consumption from that battle against five Dao Ancestors and my disposable Mana income rate, I’ve done the calculations — I can simultaneously support at least one hundred and five people borrowing {Magic Cards} to fight Dao Ancestors. Every high-ranking Witch in Starault Hall can participate.

As long as you can spread Card Magic throughout those rescued cultivation worlds using my previous methods, and use the {Magic Cards} I provide for controlling Dao Ancestor cultivators’ primordial spirits to trap and bring their spirits to me — not only will the Source Mana crystals and world invitation tokens from the world’s feedback all belong to you, I’ll also give you a ten percent share of the 1% Card Magic revenue from each rescued world.

That should be a better deal than seeking out zero-rated or endangered worlds to rescue on your own, right?”

“!!!” Cecilia and Pushila were both stunned, their eyes filled with disbelief.

It was one of the Witches listening in who couldn’t help but speak up softly, her tone tinged with reluctance:

“For us, this is truly a once-in-a-millennium opportunity… but for you, it’s a losing proposition! Worlds in the universe that happen to be both rescuable and capable of yielding rich returns aren’t easy to find — each one requires enormous amounts of time to locate. You really don’t have to do this…”

Although Mo Lan had long since made 《Universe Travel Journal》 public, and the coordinates of the Immortal Realm were no longer a secret among Starault Hall’s high-ranking Witches, every single person present adhered to the unwritten code among Witches.

They were happy to share knowledge and experiences, but would never lay hands on a potentially rescuable world that someone else had discovered first.

“She’s right!” Pushila picked up the thread, her voice rising slightly with urgency. “These worlds are treasures you discovered at enormous risk! You could rescue them at your own pace, and with the feedback from these worlds, advancing to Ninth Rank — even Tenth Rank — would only be a matter of time.

We don’t actually possess the strength to fight Dao Ancestors on our own. If we borrow your {Magic Cards} to complete these missions and still take a share of the Card Magic revenue that rightfully belongs to you… that — that would be no different from theft!”

Cecilia nodded vigorously as well, stepping forward, her voice carrying clearly to Mo Lan’s ears:

“Moira, we know you care about those plundered worlds, but you absolutely cannot make such an enormous sacrifice because of it! We refuse to take advantage of you like this!”

Their sincerity was palpable. Fearing that Mo Lan might make an irrational decision out of some spirit of “self-sacrifice,” their emotions ran high, and their voices carried, attracting nearby Witches who were trading or conversing.

The news spread like ripples across water.

One told ten, ten told a hundred.

In mere moments, nearly every Witch attending the gathering had heard about Mo Lan’s “inconceivable” proposal.

Before long, the crowd surged like a tide toward where Mo Lan stood.

After learning the details, every single one’s first reaction was to persuade Mo Lan, hoping she would retract this decision that they considered “far too generous” and even “detrimental to her own interests.”

Looking at everyone’s reactions, Mo Lan felt a warmth in her heart. It was precisely because she belonged to a community like this that whenever she had something good, she wanted to share it with everyone. But in this matter, what she stood to gain far outweighed what she would lose. She slowly shook her head:

“There are at least a thousand cultivation worlds currently being plundered of their source by the Immortal Realm. If I go about rescuing them alone, one by one, who knows how long it would take.

But if over a hundred Explorers act simultaneously, spreading Card Magic across different worlds, the situation would be entirely different.

Not only would this greatly disperse the Immortal Realm’s attention and forces, making each of our individual operations safer and less costly — more importantly, I could open up Card Magic markets in over a hundred worlds simultaneously in an extremely short time!

Even if I have to give away 1% of the revenue from each world, when the base number of revenue-generating worlds grows to over a hundred or even more, the total revenue I receive over a long period will far exceed what I’d gain from slow, solitary expansion.

The revenue I’m giving away is essentially purchasing the most precious commodity of all — ‘time.’ It would free me from the work of rescuing cultivation worlds, giving me more time to study more profound Magic and further advance my Magic level.

Once everyone’s strength has improved as a result, we might be able to marshal our forces and strike at the resource-rich but far more dangerous Spirit Realm — or even the Immortal Realm itself!

When that time comes, the returns we can reap will be several times — even dozens of times — what we could gain now!

    This is a true win-win!

If everyone still feels uneasy about it, then how about this — treat the disposable Mana I lend you for purchasing {Magic Cards} as a ‘loan,’ and pay a reasonable amount of ‘interest’?”

Put simply, the rescuable cultivation worlds under the Immortal Realm were, to Mo Lan, a delicious cake — but eating it every day, day after day, would eventually grow tiresome.

She was now sharing the cake with her family and friends to enjoy together, but the gold coins hidden inside the cake were still hers.

After all, the Card Magic revenue from those worlds was the real prize.

Seeing that everyone was still hesitant, Mo Lan revealed another part of her plan:

“Besides, I intend to take the remaining quota slots and trade them with other races that possess Realm-friend invitations to the Seran world… This way, I can spread Card Magic across other worlds even faster, and I’ll also get to visit the Seran world to study more advanced Magic! I don’t think anyone would refuse a deal like that.

The only concern is that if members of the traded races rapidly increase their Mana levels, it could pose a threat to Witches and Sorceresses.

But if all high-ranking Witches are participating as well, there’d be nothing to worry about!”

Everyone knew just how desperately Mo Lan wanted to visit higher-level worlds to study more advanced magical knowledge.

These words completely dispelled the Witches’ reservations, and they began seriously considering the feasibility of the plan.

Just as everyone was engaged in heated discussion around Mo Lan’s proposal, constantly adding details and refining the plan, a teleportation portal suddenly appeared on the grass nearby.

Three figures emerged one after another.

Leading them was the Book Witch Traci, with the Sorceress Carmela behind her.

But at that moment, everyone’s gaze fell upon the adorable girl with pink twin-tails walking behind them.

“Sorry we’re late. Long time no see — what are you all chatting about?” (End of Chapter)
