Chapter 912 – The Immortal Realm Expedition
by spirapiraAfter the good news came from Anita, the Starault Hall group chat immediately buzzed to life.
【Carmela: Since personnel and supplies have been largely confirmed, I’ll follow the original plan and set aside three months for preparation. Everyone, try to be as well-prepared as possible! If you have any questions, feel free to discuss them in the group.】
【Anita: Great! I can use this time to properly smelt a few new materials and strengthen myself further. Fighting Meridis today, I could clearly feel I haven’t recovered to Peak condition yet!】
【Mo Lan: No problem! My mirror space is available for everyone to enter anytime!】
……
【Traci: Then let’s set the departure for three months from now. Everyone remember to gather in Moira’s mirror space before then, and take her cosmic travel vessel to the vicinity of the Immortal Realm, after which we’ll split up and proceed individually!】
……
【Mo Lan: The “Immortal Realm Expedition” group chat has been set up. Everyone, click the link to join! @Traci @Anita, could the two seniors please help pull the Elf race and Dragon participants into the group?】
Before long, a new group chat named “Immortal Realm Expedition” was fully established.
All one hundred and six participants who had signed strict confidentiality and cooperation contracts—including six Sorceresses, ninety-five high-ranking Witches, three Sixth Rank Elves, and two ancient dragons—joined the group chat.
Mo Lan composed a pinned message detailing the operation.
【(Pinned) “Immortal Realm Expedition Plan” Action Notice
1. Departure Time: Exactly three months from the date of this notice.
2. Assembly Method: All participants are to enter the mirror space through Tent No. 333 at the Witch Camp for arrangement prior to departure.
3. Travel Arrangements: Everyone must board the same cosmic travel vessel to reach the star region near the Immortal Realm. During the journey, movement is restricted to designated areas. Participants must bring their own mobile dwellings and living supplies. Upon arrival near the Immortal Realm, each person will pilot their own cosmic travel vessel and proceed to their assigned target cultivation worlds according to plan.
—Moira】
The Witches still preferred chatting and discussing in the Starault Hall group. In the “Immortal Realm Expedition” group, after the Dragon and Elf race allies joined and exchanged brief welcomes, things quickly quieted down.
Mo Lan sprang into action as well.
She used a Communication Card to contact Zhizhi, Clack, and Sentai, who were at the Mo-Zhi-Ka-Sen Familiar Boarding House in Valen, instructing them to wrap up affairs at the boarding house and return to the mirror space as quickly as possible to help her receive those coming to place their mobile dwellings.
The long journey to the Immortal Realm required traversing many hidden star regions, quite a few of whose routes had been painstakingly explored bit by bit by generations of Starault Hall Witches.
Although this route information was shared openly among the Witches within Starault Hall, it remained the discoverers’ asset, its value beyond estimation.
So when the plan was first drafted, Mo Lan had explicitly proposed that she would personally pilot the Starsea Ark, carrying all participants directly to the vicinity of the Immortal Realm, after which they would split up.
This approach served multiple purposes: it properly protected the Witches’ exploration achievements and prevented the direct leakage of sensitive information; it also saved all participants the enormous energy expenditure of the journey; and it could alleviate some of the boredom along the way.
Inside the mirror space, the vast green moss meadow where the Witch’s home was located had more than enough room for one hundred and six people.
Of course, for convenience’s sake, the Dragon friends would need to assume humanoid forms to settle in comfortably.
After all, no matter how vast the meadow, it could hardly accommodate several ancient dragons in their mountain-sized true forms at the same time.
Three months slipped quietly by. One week before departure, Vasida and Lilith finally received from Mo Lan their long-awaited custom mirror space cards.
When they sensed the spaces that perfectly matched their imaginations, both Sorceresses could barely contain their excitement.
They raced against time to familiarize themselves with these mobile homes that would serve as their most important base during the long journey ahead. They also piloted their Starsea Skiffs around the vicinity of Valen to ensure they could handle the vessels proficiently when operating independently later.
Tent No. 333 at the Witch Camp had practically transformed into a bustling transit hub over these three months.
Participants passed through discreetly and swiftly, entering Mo Lan’s mirror space.
After a brief moment of bewilderment and astonishment, they were efficiently guided by Zhizhi, Clack, and Sentai to set up their temporary residences on the green moss meadow for the period ahead.
The Witches arrived first, most of them simply producing Mobile Residence Cards of various styles. Some chose to live inside Burrowing Mushrooms, while others opted for mutant hollow trees.
The Elves arrived a month before departure. Queen Eliana elegantly touched a single emerald seed, which fell to the ground, took root, and in an instant grew into an Elven silk pavilion constructed of living trees and soft luminous vines. Canopy drapes thin as cicada wings fluttered gently in the breeze. The three Elves simply moved in together.
The red Dragon Meridis and the brass Dragon Krotack were the last to arrive.
Meridis had assumed the form of a tall, poised human woman with red hair and golden eyes. Krotack still looked like a plump, golden-haired uncle.
Meridis parted her lips slightly and exhaled a small cluster of dragon breath, condensed to the utmost extreme in deep crimson.
This dragon breath did not scorch the grass. Instead, as if possessing a life of its own, it rapidly stretched, extended, and solidified before her, forming in the blink of an eye a translucent canopy as magnificent as a ruby—a dragon-breath pavilion.
Without so much as a glance, Meridis strode directly inside, her figure vanishing within.
Krotack, on the other hand, deftly pulled from his pocket a massive, heavy golden carpet embroidered with all manner of gourmet dishes.
He spread the carpet out, and it extended on its own, forming itself into a golden house.
Once his dwelling was set up, he went around visiting the Witches to mooch meals. Vasida, who had just returned from an advanced study trip to a gourmet world, became the object of his eager acquaintance.
Mo Lan had long since carved out a dedicated area within the sturdy boundary membrane of the mirror space for docking the participants’ cosmic travel vessels.
At this moment, an assortment of vessels floated silently there.
Considering everyone’s ease of movement, Mo Lan had thoughtfully opened a temporary transport passage in each person’s temporary residence, leading directly to their respective vessel.
This way, anyone could return to their most familiar “ride” at any time to handle personal matters or perform inspections and maintenance, without being stuck on the meadow.
However, aside from the Sorceresses, who were extravagant enough to craft their vessels using small living spaces as core materials, other participants’ vessels—though their interiors had been magically expanded—ultimately couldn’t match the comfort of the Starsea Skiffs, which contained self-sustaining spaces within.
As a result, most people still preferred staying in their mobile dwellings.
Everyone had signed strict contracts promising not to damage the mirror space environment, so Mo Lan felt at ease letting them move freely within the designated areas, visit one another, and even tour most regions of the mirror space.
The control room, of course, was strictly off-limits. Apart from the Sorceresses and Witches who had been explicitly authorized, no one else had permission to enter.
